I noticed on mine the wifi account doesn’t even come up anymore when I am in the car and I have tried just about everything I can invluding disconnecting the battery. Nothing works. Is your issue the same? Curious if this update fixes it. I’m about to schedule my update.

I can still see the Taycan Wi-Fi but to be honest have never connected as I use a 4g wireless hub inside the car if I want connectivity. Will get the car back hopefully Wed eve and will post an update then.?

WiFi account?

Key triggers the Porsche Connect ID (not WiFi) to be loaded and can be automatic if the option has been enabled.

When I used to go to my wifi settings on my phone when in the car, there was an option there called Taycan_2637 to connect to and for a month now that option never comes up and the LTE doesn’t work. Has 2 lines through it. So I can’t connect to the car from my phone/app in any mail way.

Ok. Not sure why you would pay for the additional data service but that's a personal choice.

Sounds like you have a fundamental Comms issue with the PCM.

Honestly it is all super confusing to me. I never remember signing up for any service. From day one when I received my car and set up my profile there was always an option in my wifi settings that showed an option to connect to the car. My phone would automatically connect to it. Then it went away and that LTE connection showed 2 lines through it and it hasn’t worked since then and I have literally tried everything. I have to just bring it in but was waiting to do it with the PCM upgrade and get it all done at the same time. But yes, I agree it sounds like the commbox issue.

Ok so you do not need the additional / separate data service for all that you need to do with the PCM and the various Porsche Connect services as you get this by default / as standard. This makes the WiFi connection more or less redundant unless you have a particular need to share your calendar with the PCM or if you need additional data services (I don't know anyone who would).

I thought you needed WiFi in order to connect CarPlay wireless?? But you certainly do not need any extra subscription from Porsche.

Good catch, I guess my context was use of the WiFi hotspot - WiFi and / or Bluetooth may be required - I don't use Carplay and not yet Android Auto ready - cable connection can also be used.

Car back following WNJ8 update and PCM connection now possible. New layout looks quite good. When you get it back you do need to check all settings as some have to be reconfigured.

I'm hoping this is the case for me. Last week I lost all data connection services, no Porsche connect, internet radio etc. It's booked in for the big update this week. The Porsche service lass seemed to think it's related. If a new update has meant their back end services no longer work for some users without the update, that would be rather disappointing.

I've not had the update but booked for 1st week of September.

My Porsche App has worked really well in the past month or so - just completed my tour around Ireland and it never missed a beat which to be honest is not 'normal'.

Excellent. I'll let you know how I get on. Generally apart from the odd connection drop it's been alright. However not at the moment, I don't have the option to add an account!
