I have opportunity to get the local Porsche to reserve me the next CT4 they have as demo car. They get it in October + 4months for their own use. The specs are 90% what I want...so question is, anyone with experience with those cars? Good option or no no?

It’s fine. I have purchased Porsche demo cars in the past. It’s similar to buying a new car. I got a great deal…before the pandemic of course.

I bought a demo car, had 500 miles when I got it and was not titled so I can get the tax credit. No regrets. Car was perfect save for some scrapes on the lower B pillar from people getting in and out. Do it, CT’s are tough to get, I would have preferred a CT over a sedan.

Congratulations! Sounds like you'll take delivery in early 2023 - exciting times ahead! Sorry I don't have experience with demos, but get IN WRITING from the dealership:
-- qualification for any tax credits when you file your tax return for that year (if one exists where you live)
-- duration of free charges at whatever charging stations you have (we get three years at Electrify America here in the USA)
-- date when the four-year bumper-to-bumper warranty expires
-- date and mileage when the battery warranty expires
-- Check whether the dealership wants you to put down a deposit or sign a purchase order. Here in the USA, the purchase order guarantees the final price whereas the price may creep up with just a deposit.

Congratulations!

Not to be the party pooper; but aren’t the demo cars getting abused? Test drivers will probably do all sorts of stunts with the car (e.g. insane acceleration and breaking, steering, etc.). On top of that, how many people have driven your ‘new’ car once you pick it up? In 4 months time that could 100 or perhaps even 200 people. Personally that would bother me, but as said - that is personal.

From what I have seen when I test drove a CT4 myself, they don't let you take it alone and the Porsche representative is letting you try it but not abuse it and I am sure they would correct even the slightest defect.
- no perks as free charging or tax credit that I am aware here
- 4 years + 8 years battery starts from car registration (i.e. I would loose 4 months)
- they want a deposit
- they need to confirm but I could change some options
Car as of right now: https://cc.porsche.com/icc/ccCall.d.../modelstart/all/default.ashx&webcode=PP6ZRSV7

That was true in an ICE, but this is an EV. No engine to over rev. The Taycan will do recuperation before using physical brakes. The only thing to really check on a demo car would be tire wear.

Man, something about putting a deposit you know for a fact will be driven by a bunch of different drivers just feels wrong to me. Will you have any price negotiation if the car is damaged? I'm a fairly particular guy about things though, so maybe you can save a good bit of money by not being so particular.

I'm also a bit surprised that the dealer isn't letting others take it for a test drive unsupervised. While I was waiting on my order, my SA literally told me any time I wanted to go take the demo car for a drive I was more than welcome to do so, which I took him up on the offer to do, and he never went with me.

Different markets different practices I suppose....I am sure regular customers get to drive it alone...some people have a different range of money, there was a guy trading in a spanking new GT3 touring for the new RS...without a blink...
