Not only UK have delays, here in Belgium, also, ordered in Nov 21 a CT4, was supposed to be delivered(optimistic timeframe) mid June 2022, (Medium Time frame) mid July 2022, then Mid August 2022, and lasst news now, mid-september 2022, I know it is only 10 Months, but moth after month, it will soon be one year ...
So I keep patience, just because it is my first Porsche, and most probably my last car before I get retired. I still have faith. In Be we can't follow the progress of the order and build process like you have, aldo it is a member of VW group Brand,. .Skoda, VW, you can follow thru the Web, Porsche no.
I am in the same situation.
Order from 01/12/2021, production mid April.....mid July..... and now........mid September.

Hi Mambo,

What region are you from ?
Uit welke regio kom je?
De quelle région êtes-vous ?
Aus welcher Region kommst du?

Like this to avoid remarks such as 'please in English' :)
This our fortune in Belgium to be Multilingual.

I bet you order at Porsche Mechelen ?
I used to/from from Mechelen to home Waver very often as working at a Telco operator in Mechelen, and should stop to them, finally I go to Kronos Porsche Center LLN which is 2 km form home.
Hope we will both of us enjoy this great car.

Good luck guys getting your cars. This is the UK section so a lot of what we're chatting about might be unhelpful to our Belgian brothers though.

I test drove the BMW I4 40 M Sport last week. I want something interim with a good range that's fun to drive.

I never planned to ever own a BMW. However, I was very impressed. It's the best EV I have driven outside of the Taycan.

The issue is of course... supply. Waiting to hear from the dealer if they have anything nationally I can cash n drive away.

It got me thinking, I would be quite happy with the I4 even if the Taycan never materialised. Perhaps I am losing interest.
I previously owned the M5 Competition and the brother has a Taycan 4S CT on order I believe it was back in August last year. Anyway I decision I too would look at the Taycan but was told in December it would be 2023 sometime before I would get one so luck for me I was hedging my bets and also had a deposit down on an i4M50 so ended up getting it, still have a deposit down on the Porsche but decided to switch it over to the Macan EV when it’s finally launched.

100% correct about the i4, it’s very impressive and my M50 version is a rocket ship, when the brother finally gets his long delayed Taycan 4S we will compare them because I reckon performance wise they will very equal. Actual handling is good but steering feel is sadly lacking, other than that I would say it’s the closest to the Porsche I have driven.

I’m six month in to my ownership and I said to the brother you will LOVE your car when it arrives, I’m amazed just how quickly electric has won my over. Can’t see myself rushing back.

BTW he has been told it’s built and just waiting the battery pack, this was about 3 weeks ago so hopefully September sometime and when it arrives I will post some pics.:like:

Folks....

Any sign yet of the 12v battery supply resuming? or is it still stopped?

I can't see the present delay level staying constant, since that would mean supply only catching up to precisely that of pre-fire levels and no more, despite there being a short term larger demand caused by the backlog.

Conversely, if battery supply has not resumed fully yet, then surely delay is worsening steadily?

Delay must be either worsening or improving - not staying steady.

Any Intel on this out there?

cheers

I got an email yesterday regarding the status of my car.
These are the exact quotes from my dealer in Hatfield:

“Unfortunately due to a supply issue with 12v batteries, Porsche have been forced to halt production of Taycans. Your vehicle has been completed all bar this battery and will be ready to ship as soon as the supply issue is resolved.
We are unsure as to when this will be resolved but will keep you updated as soon as production resumes.”

That must be so frustrating for you when they were supposed to have resumed battery supply around now (22nd Aug looking at other threads on this).

Frustrating for all of us too. "Halt production of Taycans"..... sounds ominous too.

Anyways good luck - hope they get your on a boat soon.

cheers

Yeah it’s definitely frustrating because the email I got a few weeks ago suggested the car was completed ready to be shipped.
It does chip away at the excitement when the car gets constantly delayed but at least I know it’s finished apart from the battery.
I don’t expect to get it till October at the earliest now however it’s still a good outcome considering I only ordered it in Jan 22.

That's the exact same statement the brother was told, car completed bar the battery pack but no known date as to when it will be finished and shipped. Originally his was due June, then July, then August and now ???

According to my dealer, mine has also been produced but is being held by the factory due to the lack of 12v battery. Current estimated date for delivery is November. The SA said this may come forward but that's the current date they have. Not his fault and not much we can do but wait and hope Porsche sort this out sooner ?‍♂

No update to MyPorsche at all btw, still at stage 3...
