So it seems like they’re keeping the car at the port until the 12V battery can be installed. Not sure if others have had their battery installed at the dealership.
I sincerely hope that Porsche does not ship cars to the US without the 12V battery. This has the potential to push the Final delivery out even further.
I can confirm that in EU cars are sent to the dealers with the battery still missing. As far as I am concerned, I prefer this solution. A car staying idle for months requires some attention, especially if it has a high voltage battery (see the warranty terms re. charge level, temperature, etc...). At least I am sure that my car is stored inside and at the right state of charge (I visit her every week

Yes. I also checked the state of charge and it's 45%. Porsche's warranty in my contract suggests 20% to 50%, so they are at least respecting their own terms&conditions. My SA is more helpful then yours: he gave me a loaner (Taycan RWD) for this whole w/e (probably to keep me out) and told me that, as per current info from the factory, the battery should be delivered in the first two weeks of October. However, I feel I have more info than him (based on the many threads on that subject in this forum) and, as I didn't see a single battery delivered so far, I am not holding my breath. Also, with the "pros" in having the car delivered to the dealer, there is a "con": these cars are probaby already invoiced to them, and I am afraid that Porsche's priority is for cars which are still on their balance sheet.I agree this is better.

Time for the weekly US West Coast vessel update, seems nothing changed from last week's schedule. We have two more weeks to know if we will make it on Glovis Sun or not.Just hope that my car will actually be on either one of these vessels for me to take delivery of a MY22 this year
- Glovis Corona (leaving Sep. 24) disappeared from the list and was replaced by Glovis Sun (leaving Sep. 27) arriving in Port of Benicia before Oct. 29
- Glovis Sigma showed up, leaving Port of Emden on Oct. 24 and arriving in Port of Benicia before Nov. 25

There are space limitations in Germany and some additional complexities with sending hundreds (if not thousands) of loose batteries to the US. The combination of the two will force Porsche to deliver completed vehicles to the US sooner vs later. In areas, like Europe, where they have the option to move a semi-completed vehicle out of the way, this could give them the flexibility to delay allocation of batteries to those vehicles…in favor of the US vehicles which can cause them more pain.I agree this is better.

My GTS is in that warehouse with yours. Says 87 days to dealer, Dec 8th. Although that number is going down, the car isn't moving.
