the manual does describe it!
At least my new color icon PCM printed one.
it walks through the 3 options of the "range mode settings".
And the 3rd option isn't there...

Oh!

I don't have the printed one (need to collect it) so skipped through the online stuff.

Interesting...

here you go!

the setting "route-based adaption" simply isn't available.
Sorry - says the same in the online manual in the app but doesn't list the actual missing option 'Allow advanced optimisation by PIRM'.

Perhaps this is a deliberate (?) and temporary withdrawal which happened to me several times with the Maximum Speed setting and then reappeared after a couple of days.

Is 'Auto' displayed when in Range mode on the digital cockpit - I'm guessing not?

nothing of Porsche's PCM glitches and bugs are deliberate ?
These are errors and they are unable to fix them. Obviously because it's "only software".

They can only be proud that they have so many loyal customers who are accepting it or even think it's their own fault...

Auto max speed 150km/h is working fine, it shows PIRM is active. but it can also happen to be 90 km/h auto max and try to reach silly chargers, then there is no option to switch it off other than not using range mode.

Personally, I think Range mode is becoming less relevant (I may say something different come winter of course!) - mileage gained is no better than running on fumes IMHO with all the latest software tweaks factored in.

Forgive me for not reading all 49 pages, but I'm wondering 2 things...
1) Does the new update improve carplay connectivity... mine is super spotty right now, I have to disconnect/reconnect and just generally fight with it to get it to work.
2) Does it add turn/by/turn directions to the HUD?

Thanks!

Enjoying my 21' Taycan 4S
Country flag
Well I got my 21' Taycan back from the dealership after the uPdate. They had the car for 12 days (at least I had a Cayenne loaner)! Crazy but that does include 3 day where service was closed. The big issue was having 10 Taycan in front of me when I dropped off, so it basically sat there as I hear this is a linear process.

The good news is I have it back and haven't experienced any issues with lost configuration settings, being in guest mode, ... and Android Auto wireless worked great as does the Spotify app. I'm looking forward to seeing if I get any range improvement but not expecting much as others have observed.

It's interesting that we can't add Spotify channels to the favorites (preset) list. It sure would be handy and make it more seamless to jump between Spotify and SiriusXM.

What are people using now to watch videos (while charging) on the infotainment system via AA? Is Fermata a good choice?

‘20 Taycan Turbo

Gotta say I’m jealous of you all. Dropped 20 turbo off on Aug 16 and just today promised would start on mine tomorrow. Tysons Corner Porsche said they are not taking anymore service appointments until work through backlog…. Have 7 Taycans currently in queue to update, which is not going well.

Do any of you who got the big update know if your car went offline from the My Porsche app while getting the update?

Called my dealer to see if they car would be ready tomorrow (they got it Monday morning). They said yes, it would be ready at the end of the day tomorrow. I have checked the app and nothing changed until about 2:30pm today and the app shows that the hood is open and driver door and some windows. So basically it got pulled in this afternoon. If the update takes 12 hours, assuming no glitch, I guess they could be ready (not taking into consideration the other 5 recalls).

A MONTH and they haven't even started it??

I would be livid. This kind of practice is unacceptable to me. Call me when you're ready to do the work and my car will be there in 30 minutes. Don't make me leave it at your facility to work on whenever you feel like it.

I'm suspect that it did but every time I checked it was on-line. Not sure if that is required during the update but bet the system reboots many times.

Thanks. I can tell they moved my car (kicking myself for not buying the LTE on my Blackvue before it went in so I could view the cameras) as the Apple Airtag I have hidden in the car is clearly in a different location on the map and every day this week the air tag was in the same spot and the car was locked.
