So, first the obligatory “i love this car and driving it makes me happy!”. But.. there are some things that are pretty frustrating. Some are “Porsche things”, as i understand it. There’s no reason they can’t build an amazing car that also solves these problems, although i fully expect a fair share of apologist responses - that seems to be another one of those “Porsche things” too :)
  • the dynamic headlights that don’t operate under 39MPH pisses me off every night
  • The visor not extending/telescoping is frustrating. Why not let it extend enough to cover, you know, the driver’s side window. I find myself leaning forward to enable the visor to block the sun when its on the side. This is a solved problem, people. It’s not complicated
  • No homelink buttons on the mirror - haven’t had a car without physical homelink buttons in 25 years. Past 10-15 years have all had mirror ones. Sorry, but the annoying gps-driven pop up isn’t cutting it. Have to use one of the precious shortcut buttons for this instead.
  • No physical radio skip/next buttons on the steering wheel. Hate that i have to waste a shortcut on ‘next’
  • Wish it was easier to toggle ALK on and off. Again, this was a physical button on BMW (mode toggle). Made further annoying by the fact that when you start the car, it sets the focus of dashboard display configuration button on the right-most ‘tube’ instead of where you had it last - i keep it on left-most one to control ACC/ALK
  • Backup camera - after all the discussions on this i was prepared for it to be worse. It’s not as bad as i feared. Still tho, it’s 2022 and $100k-200k car. Be better, Porsche.
  • Wish the track pad worked with CarPlay. Not that big of a deal, but sometimes annoying
Random issues:
  • Love the smart lift, it’s awesome. Wish it didn’t randomly not work, but its not all that common.
  • I keep getting these random “Air conditioning of your vehicle is complete” alerts on my phone. I have no pre-cond timers setup. Not manually hitting the preconditioning button. Just randomly getting those alerts every day or two. Sometimes in the middle of the night.
To counter-balance that, over-the-top options that make me really happy
  • Black 21” CT design wheels look fantastic. Super pricey but worth it
  • Club leather seats - soooo nice. Soft and smooth and look amazing.
  • Burmester - it’s not life changing or anything, but bass is punchy and Auro 3D is amazing. I know there are “i only listen to lossless FLAC over atomically aligned gold cables directly connected into the soul of the stereo” purists out there, but for me it sounds….. cool.
  • Illuminated door sills. Should be standard, probably
  • HUD - you are a hud-person or you are not. I’m a hud-person
  • Rear-wheel steering and power steering plus. Also probably should be standard at this price.
Edit: didn’t mention - Chalk CT 4S

This one is not too bad, just press side button in on stalk to enable driver assistance mode and then press forward on stalk twice. Press side button to disable.

I have it set for a speed hump on the only route out from my house, I reckon it lifts 2 times in 3, most annoying are the times when I've given up on it auto-activating so hit the button myself, just as it turns blue so I've cancelled the auto-activation.

Yeah i can’t quite figure out the pattern. Probably isn’t one. Oh well, it’s better than no smart lift at all like the e-tron GT

Dang the track pad doesn’t work with CarPlay?? I was forward forward to using that….
Definitely agree that it is asinine that Porsche couldn’t put fast forward/rewind buttons on the steering wheel. That’s car ergonomics 101.

Also love the car - phenomenal looks, great dynamics and like the EV thing.

Don’t like “take over steering” response when cruising in a straight line with my hands on the wheel. Not sure if it’s truly braking but, it feels like a significant slowing.

Fair number of rattles that wasn’t expecting after 6 mos
