With Porsche goes public, delivery number is one of the main focus. I would assume its going to push to report a huge delivery (jump) in Q4. With this, I think most of us will be taking delivery before year end.

My excitement of taking delivery is getting less now after all these delays.
Or, in order to make as many deliveries as possible before the end of the year, they will prioritize EU production since the delivery is quicker so more likely to happen and push all North American production to January. Tesla has been doing this every quarter for years, motivated by quarterly reports which drive stock price.

I'm hoping they'll at least try to deliver the MY2022s all by end of this year. Otherwise will be pretty ridiculous delivering a huge lot of MY2022s in 2023 and may draw some complaints (even though others haven't had much success with emailing PCNA, I might try anyway if this is becoming the case)

I think this is a uniquely Tesla brand of gamesmanship.

Sorry to hear your November build date slid, but I can’t say I’m surprised - this has been a spectacularly awful year for Taycan production. Between 12v batteries, wiring harnesses, software updates, Bose/burmester amps, labor issues at the ports, and a boatload of cars that sank to the ocean floor, it does seem like this was the worst possible time to be an excitedly impatient buyer. :)

We have a phrase for that over this side of the pond…

“Annus horribilis”

I'm losing excitement as well and becoming ever more frustrated. My build completed 7/21 and original delivery was 9/9. Let go of my other vehicle based on dealer telling me the 9/9 would be the latest arrival date. It's a shame Porsche doesn't communicate very well with their dealers either as they end up providing inaccurate information to the customer. I keep getting pushed back and back and back. Now showing 12/23. I was leaving Mercedes to come to Porsche. I'm giving strong consideration of going back with Mercedes. My dealer has an allocation for a MB EQE AMG that would deliver in January. I'm thinking I might do that. I know everyone wants to say every manufacturer is dealing with supply chain issues. However, the bigger problem is how they manage them and how their communication is and Porsche is definitely at the bottom.

Fully agree with you. I ordered car 12/2021. Waiting now almost 1 year and like you getting less and less excited as time goes on. My car completed finally 8/26/22. Also looking at other cars but I keep thinking we are close to the finish line??? Maybe just wishful thinking?

Yes, I keep thinking the same thing...getting close to the finish line. However, I've spoken with Porsche NA and they've acknowledged TYD is completely unreliable as mine said built and sitting at the port awaiting a vessel as of 9/23. They confirmed it wasn't at the port and it was still awaiting a battery as of a couple weeks ago. They also acknowledge how poor their communication has been.

Agreed --- mine finished production before the summer break and change to the 22 model. May let it go back to the dealer -- very frustrated.

Problem is that Porsche brand is so strong. They don’t have to do anything and people will still be in line to buy their cars.
What’s annoying is that they have not done anything to compensate the hordes of people waiting for the last 6-12 months waiting for their cars.
If i knew what I know now I would have never ordered and waited.
would have gotten a car on the lot 10 months ago despite the markups.

I have the same timeline as you. Froze this week, start production on Nov 11, Production complete 11/18, on vessel 11/25, at dealership in Houston on 12/18. Dealer says it's likely that schedule holds now that batteries are moving but judging by the comments on this site it seems unlikely.
Hey, did your production just move to 12/09 to 12/16 like mine did? Which Taycan did you order? Mine is a TCT, I'm curious if they batch them together.

Plenty of uniquely Tesla strategies (starting with making EV's, which was considered something which can never be profitable) were copied by the legacy automakers, especially if they actually work. Tesla shifting production to make largest possible quarterly deliveries does work for their investors and hence the stock price, something Porsche needs to start worrying about, now that they have gone IPO.

I purchased my car on 8/6 and initially had a 12/09 date. I dont remember exactly when, but later in August before my order even froze it bumped back to 12/16. I have a GTS and here is my build: http://www.porsche-code.com/PPPAMWH3

Well, my production just moved from November to December, and delivery now moved to mid January (originally mid December, then end of December, now mid January). :( Need a January deliveries thread (or perhaps we just rename this one, or is anyone in this thread actually confident they will get their car in December?).

I did notice something confusing. Not only future dates are moving, but also past dates. My freeze point was reached and then defrosted while moving forward a few of times (original was in September, now in November), but they've also reset my "Order Created" date a few of times (the very first milestone in TYD). Any idea what that's all about? Is it some middle management tweaking dates because they are tracking "Order to delivery" times so they move the order date every time they move estimated delivery they reset the order date to keep that metric shorter? Every time I see order date change, I worry that my build options may change without my knowledge too.
I think the "Order Created" date changes whenever the other dates change significantly...I noticed the same thing happening for our 911 order, and that was the correlation. I thought of it as Porsche marking when other dates where changed.

I find this practice by Porsche to be very concerning. Whether on purpose or by accident, it is not acceptable to change dates that have passed on actions that have been completed.

My ‘order created’ date changed several times after it was confirmed/completed. My suspicion is that the newer (and later dates) were used to determine priority for production. Which made my car even later…which got it caught up in their battery issue.
