Plug and charge has always worked for me at Ionity - MY22 is that makes a difference.
Yeah I wasn't sure and it should work.

My nearest Ionity is 90+ miles away so hence I rarely use it (once in 2 years).

I think MY20 may have an issue from memory.

Great thread as I’ve done sweet FA on my home charging set up yet and my ST is due late Dec this year ( so this means Jan 23 to me :() so watching with interest.

If I go for this commander set up then I’ll need an industrial style, non tethered cable which from the comments above comes as standard with the Taycan. Correct?

the connection will be inside my garage but the car will likely be some 10m away from the garage door, so suspect the cable that comes with the car won’t be long enough - so I’ll need something like this. If true, is this the kind of thing the fitting electrician can supply?

On the boot liner, I’ve pre-warned swmbo to order one of these from eBay. Seems to get good reviews and for £27, if it’s garbage I haven’t lost that much.
Standard car to EVSE cable length is 4.5m but you can upgrade to 7.5m (not cheap).

Read the standard spec sheet for details on cabling and connectors provided - blue 32A commando.

Get your electrician to do a survey and make sure you get a dedicated 32A supply to provide 7.4kW of power.

Thanks. Mine is MY22 as well. Do I just have to tick the plug and charge box in the PCM in car or is there some other layer of approval on the website i need to do? Ta.

Excellent find.....
Really useful compared to having all different cards / apps from different providers.
Thankyou for posting.

Octopus really are a fantastic company. Can't praise them highly enough.
?
It looks good and a great idea but it doesn't cover any of the 2,389 ChargePlace Scotland EVSEs which is a shame.

So that's the thing, if you still need to use your card then Plug and Charge isn't quite there with Ionity. It may have been a one off but I've charged at Porsche Centres in Scotland and Ireland and I've always had to tap my Taycan card for the authentication to work (or via the app). I suspect this is a deliberate tactic.

Let us know what intervention if any when you next charge.

Box was no longer ticked , which i'm blaming the big update for. Will see what happens tomorrow!

Update on the thread...

Titan cover ordered and sorted (think it was a Titan i had on my Cayenne).

On the charger front, it seems Porsche have recently changed the charger (in the last few months) now supplied as standard, and it is now a 230v 16amp supply (equating to 3.68 kW). Dealer told me what they had been supplying was "illegal", I suspect it is to do with permissions needed with the DNO for any charger larger than this.

Interesting... I am not convinced he is correct on PMC+ I checked with Porsche UK by email and their technical dept. confirmed the PMC+ meets UK IEE standards and has two pole DC current protection so disconnects both live and neutral when tripped so this meets 18th edition of regs. I also emailed my DNO (SSE) to ask them about any restrictions or approvals and if I could have 2 x 32A sockets and also when to submit the forms advising of charger installation and to my surprise they came back and said no need to submit forms if you are using 32A Commando sockets with mobile charger as it does not count as a permament installtion...... time will tell when the chargers turn up!
