so to confirm I can get full charge capabilities on 800v stations? So at high voltage Tesla 250Kwh charge points, I’d get the full KWh, without the upgrade option added
Yes as I said above - however Tesla Superchatgers are *NOT* 800v units - on a standard spec Taycan the most you will see on ANY 400V charge point is 50 kW…that includes at open Tesla sites.

Unless you have specified the 400/800V 150 kW booster which lifts the threshold ceiling at Tesla (and other 400v devices) to 150 kW.

Clear as mud ?

Is there a decent 800v network.
my current cars a Tesla so the superchargers are a god send to me, this is why I’m now concerned when I get the Taycan without this 150kw upgrade, unless I can use 800kw points and there’s a decent network across the country
Yes. Would you like a list? ?

Please ??
- IONITY (included in your Porsche Charging Service account) at discounted 30p rate
- Porsche dealer 350 kW units, more expensive as there is a timed element. Around 50p on PCS
- Fastned, most are 300 kW. Around 50p on PCS
- Osprey many are 150kW or 300kW hubs. Around 50p on PCS
- MFG, will end up with 600 odd hubs nationally and over 3000 charge points. They are building fast and furious. They are not on PCS though, so dearer.

There are loads of others, but the ones above are my go to networks. I also like Tesla as they’re cheap (and I have the 150 kW booster), but only v4 sites can accommodate Taycans in the UK in the “correct” bay.

Whatever always aim for a hub (minimum of 6 chargers).

appreciste the help

I’m sure you can understand my predicament
I’m kicking myself for not realising the 150kw upgrade option as I do travel a lot, so to be restricted to 50kw is going to be a real wounder
I can’t warrant the extra £110 per month to add it on due to the repricing structure

Get Zapp Map or the Electroverse one and plug in the routes you do most often. Filter for 350kW chargers, or 150kW ones...and check how many there are on your routes.

The Porsche satnav also does a pretty good job of managing routes/charge stops (I think the Porsche Intelligent Range Manager is needed to give all the bells and whistles...would have thought that's software though so may be able to be added after build if yours doesn't have it).

I haven't travelled especially varied routes yet, but infrastructure does look to be improving all the time.

How do I use PCS on Osprey? Just use the RFID card?

I’ve tried at 3 places now and not once worked so it’s charging me full whack

RFID at Kempower-based hub, rather than one of their pub sites with the single or double Tritium or Circontrol charge points.

Thanks. It was a Kempower unit but in a car park opposite a pub (Brackley).

Sorry if silly question but any idea to find out what the site is before heading there? This was the Porsche route recommended one when I selected Porsche charging as an option. Sorry if this is a thread hijack too!

Zap-Map is usually a decent guide for all charge point operators. Often folks will post photos etc there and commentary on the chargers.

For example…

- at the pub, they’re Circontrol charge points.

- at the Osprey hub over the way, they’re Kempower:

Thank you. So my card should have worked then.

I’ll give Porsche a call tomorrow.

That’s what they told me today ??‍♂
Porsche UK (Reading HQ)?

If the answer is 'yes' then I will write to my dealership and Porsche UK requesting clarification because if there is an issue it needs to be public and appropriately dealt with.

Use the search option on Nav to hunt down target ultra rapid chargers.

Use Zapmap / ARP / Shell / BP / MFG/ Instavolt / My Porsche apps to look nationally for any and all EVSEs.

Filter your search to > 150kW to maximise 800v EVSEs located in any search.

Plenty of info out there when you look.
