Hey guys,

In June i had a chance to get order a RWD or 4S and i chose the RWD. My spec came out to 113k and my 4S build was 132k. Not a life changing difference but i thought i would save some $ as I have a 992 gt3 in the garage and the assholes were charging me a 10k adm. I have never driven a Taycan RWD however it seems to have very similar performance stats to my Model Y on paper. I know the porsche driving experience will be 100x better however its bothering me that a car so expensive wont have the grunt. I know EVs are much easier to drive then ICE cars for daily use. Has anyone been through this and can share some insight.

Im confused on what the right thing is to do, if i do cancel i much rather wait for the refresh model. Considering its a 135k RWD Taycan out the door im not so sure its the right call.

Thank you!

DONT DO IT!!! The 4S is 10x better than the RWD. I’ve driven the RWD, 4S, and GTS. Go with the 4S or GTS, don’t waste your money on a RWD. The performance is dead in a RWD. Do you’re research, but in my honest opinion, the 4S is worth it! I have one on order for March, minimal upgrades, but I did get mission e wheels. Total price is $127K

135K is a LOT for a base Taycan. Also I'm sure in this softening market, you'd be able to find an allocations sans ADM. I test drove a RWD and was unenthused with its acceleration. I value speed more than some folks on this forum, so I got the GTS even though I too have a 911 for the weekends. It sounds like you already kind of feel like you got a raw deal, so I think the decision has already been made, you just have to make the call.

The RWD is a great car! Since you already have a GT3 you won't need to scratch the speed itch with this one.

My experience driving the RWD is that you only notice the lack of speed off the line. During any passing or accelerating manuever you will have far more power at your disposal than you likely have road to use.

It's a great car and also has the longest range. Sorry about the ADM, I hate that crap.

Couple things I want to Clarify…

I will get the $7,500 fed credit, and 135k includes CA sales tax 10.25%.

so it reality the car is about 115k+ out of door fees. Walking away would result in losing the $7,500.

I also do see a weakening market and considering buying used(just haven’t found a good example for a good price). Would love to pickup a 2022 Taycan 4s for 115k but it’s just not going to happen. Really would love to make the purchase this year for tax benefits.

You know what, screw them. Don't buy it at 135K. That's a 4S price.

There are many lightly used RWD taycans available for < 100K (and potentially with some negotiating room.). I'd look for one of those.

I think it's better to wait in this uncertain market. Also, a 2021 and 2022 MY are essentially the same as long as they have the newest uPdate. They can both do plug and charge.

He’s saying it $135k OTD, including taxes and fees. That’s not 4S money.

The obvious has not been stated, get a used 4s for same price and better resale …

Base is just way to slow for that kind of $, girl pulls up in her Nissan Maxima, game over ?‍♂

u know it , we know - everyone knows it even though they might not be willing to admit it…for that kind of $ I want more than “1990’s” acceleration …

I think the $7500 tax credit is only good for new car purchases...and it doesn't apply for cars this late in the year, does it?

I see you're in LA. Which dealer is charging you 10k adm on a RWD?

I’ve seen some 4s’s recently on Taycan Facebook pages for less than 120k I believe …
