Hi All,

Forgive me if the question has already been answered... but...
I just want to do a sanity check.
Situation:
Yesterday I finished fast charging my Taycan to 85% raising the battery temp to approx 33C / 91F. Outside temp was -3C / 27F.
The charging station is on a highway with a short onramp so you really need to kick it down to merge.
Normally no issue... But yesterday... I kick down to merge but the acceleration was very poor and the car just limited to 140km/h / 85mph.

Whatever I tried the acceleration was poor and top was limited. No messages on the dashboard or anything. It felt like the "range" mode activated for some reason. So I switch back and forth but had no effect.

Was this normal behavior due to the temp difference or should I be worried? Could not find something in the manual but again could overlook this.
Just want to be sure as I'm embarking on a road trip real soon and would like to have a bit of piece of mind (if that's even possible with the taycan ;) )

are you sure the car wasn't struggling for traction with maybe black ice on the road? I have driven my tacan with a pretty cold battery (hovering around 0C) and haven't noticed any power limits.

however, in poor traction (e.g. ice or very hard snow) the car can feel powerless but that's really the traction control working overtime. Because it is so granular however it feels different from an ICE which abruptly cuts power, in the Taycan it just feels like lower power

Thanks for your reply. Conditions were good so no traction loss to be honest. It really felt like the range mode. Initial accelartion ok but then it just... struggled to accelarte and topped at the speed mentioned above... Will try again today.

140km/h only?
sounds like Range mode limitation.
It’s -2C and i’ll go out in about an hour, will try to drive faster (if my wife won;t screem :giggle:  )

btw: im; sure that i’ve been driving faster during summer…with battery over 30C as well.

Yesterday, I charged my car to 85% at home. It was 14F out and there was no change in performance. I only have an 11KW charger at home though so I doubt the battery temp got really hot though.
