Hi All.....I picked up my 2WD 93kwh battery on 01.01.22 and had driven 17,000 miles until 01.10.22 at an average 4.0miles per kwh (my normal journey is mostly dual carriage way at 60 mph limit). I had the major software update completed at Porsche on 02.10.22 and since then my average has dropped to 3.3miles per kwh (for 4,100 miles since 02.10.22). So, from 100% charge i now loose 80-90 miles which is really big deal for me and the journeys I use the car for. I have given this data to Porsche and they can also see in the cars telemetry. My local Porsche dealer (Bristol UK) cant figure out why this could be...can anyone offer and comment?? Any feedback appreciated!!
Thanks Tim.

Wow, I have only had my car 5 weeks but I have had from 1.2 miles/kWh on short journeys in cold weather to 2.7 miles/kWh as the best yet! My car was delivered with the new software already.

Hope your range improves, that's pretty impractical!

From 100% charge I was getting 360 miles average range, now only 270 miles since the software update. I asked Porsche if they could reverse the update and they said no! :-(

Yes, I have chosen not to use the Taycan for short journeys :( hopefully it will get better as the weather warms up!

I think 360 miles range is abnormally high. Did you actually drive the car that many miles between charges?

As you imply, there is a consumption hit when you get started in cold weather. I found defrost to be particularly tough on energy consumption. Once the car is warmed up, efficiency should improve especially if you don't go too hard on the heater / defrost.

I agree that colder weather might have an effect but between Jan-Oct there was all sorts of weather differences for me. The best i had was 4.3 miles/kwh (setting in Range/Eco Plus) for a single journey over 200 miles. I used to set off on a single journey and the car would say start at 308 miles at 100%, then the car would add average 50 miles during the journey (the recuperation ON, I find the Auto setting doesnt add as much/or any battery %). This doesnt happen for me anymore and nobody knows why.

Here's a screenshot of the 10 month telemetry as proof of the cars range =

4miles/kwh…that’s 15.6kwh/100km.
That’s incredible, congrats.
After 26k km, my overall consumption is 19.0kwh/100km.

my lowest consumption was something above 16, but that was in summer time, when i was driving very slow, no uphills, no autobahn…just up to 60km/h or even less.
That’s not the way how to drive Porsche  L..so i couldn’t imagine how to make all 25k km in a such style.

4 mi / kW - simply astonishing!

My range has fluctuated and have peaked and stabilised at 3.3 mi / kW 19.5K miles.

Perhaps your software was over zealous in its readings and is now close to where it should be and aligned with the rest of us in UK.

Hi Tim

I'm in BS20 as well and use Porsche Bristol. Just got my Black CT back after months of faff and replacing in March. My range was circa 252, after upgrade in October dropped to 190, boot lock then failed and black screen, then heater. Happy to share experiences if you want to. Andrew the DP has been excellent as has Josh on Service. Cheers Rick

Hi.
My long time (14k km) consumption with 4S has been 17.8 kWh/100km (3.5 miles/kWh) with our 'half year long winter' and the most efficient have been 14.8 kWh/100 km. (4.2 miles/kWh)

After uPdate I've struggled to get that figure again.

Happy to hear if someone has beaten these figures ?

However as we now have - 5C to - 25C varying day to day the consumption varies from 23-56 kWh/100 km on short trips where heating takes a good chunk of the energy.
