I have a 22 kw AC charger at work but my Taycan 4S 93kw only chargers at 10.4 Kw .?

Is they anyway this can be increased on AC charging to charge at 22kw ??So doubling the speed of AC charging? Very frustrating!

Does your car have the option to upgrade to 22kw/h if not you will be limited to 11kw/h

Yep. Car comes with max 11 kwh as standard. You have to have the 22kw AC onboard charger option to benefit - it was about £1.3k on mine. Suspect there isn't a retro fit opportunity.

I thought that there is a retrofit possibility on some models….which comes at a very Porsche like cost.

Its an expensive option, worth it if you need fast(er) turnarounds, without resorting to DC

I’d be interested in the 150kw dc as a retrofit. Anyone heard of that?

Are you using the cable that came with your car?

You'd need the 22kw option on the car to do that. Nothing to do with cables etc.
Not sure about retrofit cost and if possible

No.

If you did not option the 22kW AC onboard charger then you will.be limited to a max of 11kW.

Your work supply is 3 phase and so things could be worse and you would be limited to 7.4kW if it were a standard domestic single phase supply.

You can retro fit a 22kW upgrade but it would be cost prohibitive - £'000s.

Option recently announced for the North American market is $200 premium over the new car order option + 12 hours labour.

So if you take the 12 hours at face value ( @tigerbalm whom had several units replaced under warranty, before the harmonic update resolved the issue, reckons labour time closer to 5-6 hours…)

Likely part cost = £1,179 + £200
Labour @ 6 hrs x £180
TOTAL = £2,459

Have a read here:

Edit: above, was thinking of AC charger not DC-DC booster. Sorry!

Both are important. Different types of cables not all are capable of handeling 22 Kw. For example the cable that comes with some PHEV that can only handle 3,6 Kw anyway.

Cables supplied with the Taycan will support up to 22kW - up to full L2 spec.

Are the settings of the charger at work ok? They could have limited it to 11 Kw? Or did have 22 Kw ik the past with another car on the same charger.

Is only one car charging or two on each charger? Some double chargers share the load and when two cars are plugged in give 2 x 11 Kw

and like mentioned above you need the optional 22 Kw charger.

I know it supports 3 fase 32A. But he didn’t say he was using the cable that came with the car. Don’t know why he wasn’t but it is possible.

Most public L2 EVSEs are untethered in UK so I'd assume own cable used.
