So here is the build code - due to lock next week ! PP6Y1BH0

4S ST in Mamba Green. BLack leather... Ill let those who are interested have a look at the rest.

Things that I am a little torn on- RS Spyder wheels versus the less expensive aero 20 inch TTurbo aeros .... I like the both but think prefer the RS Spyder
Have not opted to have the wing mirrors painted.. any thoughts ... does the black plastic look that obvious/bad ?
Gone for a race tex steering wheel- is this a bit silly when the rest is all leather ?

Thanks to anyone who fancies sticking in their opinion-always like reading the opinions of you'll on here- its good we don't all agree!

feeling more real now !!!!! First ever 'proper' car .. :involve:

It’s all such personal choice / preference… but here goes, for me, roof rails are a massive no no on ST, they seem to sit better on CT but mess with the clean lines of the ST, again though all personal preference.

Wheels look well, I’d go for these over the aero’s…

I’ve always had carbon wing mirrors so couldn’t comment on that one but I see no issue with the black bottoms to them, it’s quality plastic etc… and I never noticed them look out of place on any loaner cars I’ve been given.

I’m fan of race tex, having the GTS ST with GTS interior etc… I’d be mad not too, but as you point out, the wheel might not work with the rest being leather… maybe someone that has that combo can confirm it works.

What ever you choose you’ll love it! Good luck and enjoy!

Consider adaptive cruise control. I like it for use during congested traffic and for highway driving. It adds hardware that is required for some FOD options.

- RS Spyders all the way. This is a much better complement for the ST overall look
- Mirror basic black plastic is awful, and you see it every time you are in the car (looking out), so this is the option to go with since you chose everything else as high-gloss black: Exterior Mirror Lower Trims painted in Exterior Colour including Mirror Base painted in Black (high-gloss)
- One of my favorite performance options is PTV+ so look more into it if you can benefit
- I do not see an issue with having Race-Tex steering wheel with leather interior if you like the look, feel, and function
- I do not have an opinion on the roof rails, if you need them as a function for the roof box, then get it, otherwise if it is for the looks, then personal preference to have it

Congrats on the allocation.

Our Taycan has a race-tex steering wheel with a leather interior, and we love it. I've also got the same combo in my M4.

We found this one used, but when we order a new spec we'll do the same.

Everyone raves about the rear axle steering, but honestly I haven’t felt I’m missing out by not having optioned it. The cars handles amazingly without it, and the turning circle at low speed is frankly astonishing with just Power Steering Plus.
Mamba Green is utterly beautiful in real life. I may be biased.

Skip Racetex.

Colour coded mirror or gloss black rather than plastic.

RS Spyders preferred but other choice looks good too.

Skip neodyme.

Racetex b pillar

Skip black door handles (tacky)

Skip logo on centre console (crests on head rest fine)

Skip carbon go black - illuminated if you must.

Sport sound I'd skip and tedious after a while.

Add matrix lights.

Don't be tempted by ACC.

Hi...

all subjective, but...

Colour looks great (I have gentian blue, but the mamba was v close second and often wondered if I should have gone for the bolder colour)

The RS Spyder wheels do look very nice, but I have the Turbo aero wheels and am very happy. They also add some range vs the Syders I think (certainly seem to get a bit better than compared to friends / colleagues). So I guess you pays your (more) money and takes your choice on that

I went back and forth, but I didn't spec the coloured wing mirrors and haven't noticed at all

Why have you gone for black on the brake calipers? (I have the base RWD and they have black and am always a bit jealous of the standard red on the S)

I didn't spec the variable speed cruise control and wish I had as now have to do lots of motorway miles and can't upgrade on FOD

I think the surround camera is a good buy, standard is totally useless

Rear axle steering...I don't have it so can't properly comment (you really need someone who has driven with / without) but its not something I wish I had changed

Good luck!

I have the RS Spyder wheels on my ST - the car stands out well so I would def spec them.
As for the black plastic mirror case - you will not notice it tbh, I didn’t.
I am not a fan of racetex myself, I always prefer the feel of a leather steering wheel but that’s subjective so go with whatever feels better.
Also surround camera is a must because the reverse camera is probably the worst feature of the Taycan.

I’m due to lock next week, after going back and forth on the wheels (and everyone at work insisting the spyder wheels are the best) I’ve gone with the 20” Aeros. I don’t mind the way they look and the extra range and comfort was the deciding factor. I’ve made the mistake before with buying options for looks rather than practicality. Current car is on 21st, low profile tyres and I miss my previous car for it’s less crash ride.

I don’t think ride will be too different if you have air suspension on the car. Ultimately pick the ones you like the look of best and is in budget. Wheels you can always change easily!

I searched on here for 20 vs 21 and all the threads seemed to agree ride quality suffered on the 21s
