Hi Peoples
Took delivery of my new Tycan 4CT beginning of December.
On the first drive from dealer I could feel a buzzing in steering wheel and im sure I can hear it.
It's there nearly all the time and can be very prominent.
I Tried to identify the problem myself before I took it back to dealer. To no avail.
The car went back into deal on the 20th of December.
After various phone calls from dealer by 3 different managers.
They invited me to test drive the car on Thursday 19th January.
The dealer after putting 200 miles on it is telling me they can't find anything wrong with it. And what I'm experiencing if the character of the vehicle. !
They suggested I put some mileage on the car and bed it in.
I reluctantly agreed.
I've tried to explain to the dealer that the demo car I had in January 2022 did not suffer with this sensation.
Or if it did i wouldn't have placed my order.
I was so looking forward to the car but this problem is spoiling what is a great car.
Anyone's advice would be greatly appreciated .
Regards
Jim

Take it back to the dealer and require that they identify the problem and address it, it is not a characteristic of the car :CWL:

Mine doesn't do it and I'm not sure what more miles is going to do for you other than continue to impact your experience of the car.

(Car looks lovely :like:)

These kind of problems are so frustrating - not something I have experienced. Could you go for a drive with the engineer? I had done this before with other issues.

As above. I would politely request a drive of their demo car with the SA/Service Manager/Tech alongside followed by a drive of your own, also with them present. Maybe then they'll suddenly be able to acknowledge it's not a characteristic...........

Some possibilities:

My Taycan had the sport chrono package and I discovered that it was the sport chrono dial that made a metallic buzzing sound when driving over certain roads. The problem would go away if I held the dial. When I realized it was repeatable at certain locations the dealer could experience it as well and they replaced the sport chrono dial.

Another sound that I thought was near the steering wheel ended up being the head rest adjustment latch. If the headrest is moved forward it would rattle occasionally but because it was behind my head it would sound like it came from the steering wheel. Unfortunately the dealership couldn’t make this one go away… fortunately after a few months of owning the car it stopped.

Possible causes of the sound for sure but, I don't think they would explain the vibration/buzzing feeling in the steering wheel described by the OP? Could be a combination of things though.

Not normal IMHO.

Could be the airbag electronics in the steering wheel boss or a dodgy connection for the horn.

Dealer suggested ghd tyres need bedding in. I laught at that comment. I'll put a 1000 miles on it and back it goes. Ive Never felt sensation from any other car I've owned. Its hard to explain, it's likea resonance. On a very smooth Rd surface it more noticeable because its not disguised by Rd and tyre noise. I've come from a BMW to porsche and I'm gutted. The car is awesome range poor at the moment only getting 200 on full charge. Temp about 6 degrees at the moment.
Fingers crossed ?

Got my CT4 (no photo as it's filthy!) same time as you. I've done 2000 miles already but nothing similar. I can't believe that Porsche have allowed the passenger seat belt buckle to hit the side of the seat / door pillar though - and rattle on bumpy surfaces!

If you haven’t already tried, you might try disconnecting the 12V battery for 5 minutes and this will rest most of your electronics. That worked for me when I had a humming sound behind the steering wheel followed by my HUD disappearing. Just disconnect the negative ground on battery in the frunk.

Any updates to this? I'm in same situation with mine, taking all enjoyment out of the car and dealer hasn't been able to diagnose yet.
