Anyone have an update on how their order is progressing compared to forecast?

Apparently my car was down to start being built in February and due at the dealer by 28th March.

I wasn’t necessarily in that much of a rush, however the temporary car I purchased to tide me over for 4-6 weeks has now thrown its timing belt and is beyond economic repair so will be going for scrap.

I’m debating whether in the short term I can survive with borrowing my wife’s car when she isn’t using it, taking taxis and getting a lift to the station at other times or whether I need to try and find another temporary solution.
Try onto, I've been using them to hold me over until delivery, they do 2 day delivery and have a nice amount of cars on monthly lease.

Tried sogomobility and they had a decent offer on a Renault Zoe with would have been fine for a short period, but my EVSE isn't up and running yet, so that is on hold until I can confirm I can actually charge the thing!

I looked at 'onto', but their pricing for the Zoe was c. £439 v £239 for Sogomobility, although i haven't compared the quotes closely to confirm they are like-for-like.

We’ve not had the best start to the process.
Spoke to one sales person in August 22 and after a couple of weeks, contacted her to get things rolling to find out she’d left.
The guy that took over was difficult to get hold of.
Eventually he came back got things sorted and signed the order form after paying the deposit.
That was Mid September 22. I was told the business manager would be in contact to sort the finances.
Chased again late September and heard nothing since.
Well until yesterday and got the invite to the driver experience, emailed the contact at the dealership today to be told can we come back to the dealership for a meeting with the business manager.
Im guessing nothing has been on and will be surprised if the build order has been sent.
We were told 12 months but estimated Dec 23 but who knows.

An email for the attention of the sales manager is likely to give you some answers!
The start of my process was equally frustrating, worth the wait though.
Hope you get sorted.

Ordering a Taycan
Country flag
Hi Folks.

Looking at placing an order through my company car scheme, their webite is saying May 2024 for delivery of a Taycan 4S.

Based on peoples experiences here, does that sound reasonable?

I'm in no rush, just trying to plan things, including owning another car, around this predicted delivery date.

Thanks

Sounds reasonable but you will want to ensure you get the updated model which I think is due in 2024.

I don't think that Silverstone send the invites without the order being on the central system (though that doesn't mean the order has yet been assigned a build slot).

Update: it's now on a boat heading for Sheerness! Should arrive tomorrow to join @Gra13, @AGDunc and @korsikoff. I reckon even all going well it'll be mid-Feb before hand-over.

So... should I pick it up mid-Feb or delay registration until 1st March?
Mine did indeed arrive at the retailer mid-Feb, and I decided to wait. So am now collecting it this Wednesday.

Horrible journey (deposit Nov 21), but I expect all will be forgiven come Wednesday!

I ordered May 2022 and was told 12-15 months, I was offered the experience for Nov and got an allocation last week with build complete before end of March. There was nothing in the app and nothing official from HQ regarding the car until stage 3 but now it’s moving along quicker than I anticipated. The sales guy has been helpful but I think they are nearly as much in the dark as we are.

Thanks, what is the new model and do you know whether it's available to order generally?
I don’t think we know yet, from the pictures on the web looks a minor face lift so bumpers and lights but would expect improved battery range given what Tesla is promising. I would discuss with your dealer if you can get in the queue for a Taycan but possibly defer once you are at the front of the list.

who is the provider for your work scheme?

I've got a tracker for salary sacrifice/lease orders running here: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/uk-lease-salary-sacrifice-order-tracker.14467/

you'll see what the 15 or so of us who are waiting are in for...

~14months seems to be the 'average' wait
