Now that Tesla is rolling out MagicDocks to some/limited North American Supercharger sites (europe doesn't require an adatper) there are two app recommendations for the EV road warrior…

• https://apps.apple.com/app/id582007913- required for activating a charging session at a Tesla Supercharger site
  • setup your tesla account
  • assign a credit card for billing
  • you can use the in app map to see if any sites have the magicdock near you
• https://apps.apple.com/app/id1056496235- non Tesla Supercharger Map
  • shows existing and upcomign supercharger sites - crowd source data (like plugshare) - but helpful for planning and seeing all the possible locations…

the 400V/150 kW option is now also probably a good idea for any Taycan order

roll out of the MagicDocks seems straight forward and easy - Wed. of last Week there were no magicDocks at the location in Scott's Valley, CA - and last night Saturday all 16 stalls had them. So apparently little if any retrofit work is required for Tesla to support this if they choose to go beyound the 20% mark...Basically it appears Tesla can retrofit a Supercharger site faster than an EA stall takes to activate charging.

Thanks. I'll get these apps installed ready. Still waiting for the heater fix for my car so who knows when I will get it.

I believe Tesla charge stations had been open for some time in Europe although not the UK but not sure if they have the built in adaptor like in the video.

20 SuC sites now open to non-Teslas now in UK. The first 15 opened in May last year.

No adapters are needed for SuC in UK and Europe as all Tesla Superchargers (and cars) are CCS2 equipped by default since 2019.

Get the Tesla app and crack on son ?

In terms of finding charging here in the UK -

ZapMap is pretty good (the free version, haven’t tried the paid version which bundles in CarPlay so possibly handy for PCM).

The Tesla app allows you to find ‘public’ SuC charging sites easily too…handily also tells you how many are available in real time too.
