I have a MY22 and not aware of a heater problem. So that I don't need to read what is now 7 pages of posts, can someone tell me if the heater issue affects models already delivered from MY22?

FWIW I have no complaints about my heater....
Don’t read them then . My MY 22 has had replacement heater, two boot latches and numerous other issues… hence a MY23 is on its way! Fingers crossed!

Mine left the factory on 8th Feb, was in Grimsby 15th Feb been sat there ever since : (
Oh dear! Which OPC are you dealing with. Bristol tell me a week from port to dealer is usual so it does seem there is something unusual going on with yours.

It does appear to be a bit of a lottery. I have just taken delivery of a Sport Turismo 4S (March 6th) successfully. It finished production on 1st Feb and there did seem to be a small delay when it got to UK port - only a few days more than I would have expected. All seems good. The only minor issue is that the factory put the wrong colour roof bars on ( I specified aluminium and got black !)...a bit strange , but Porsche are sorting replacements out.

Too many to list. Includes a MY23 Taycan RWD

This heater saga reminds me of the 12V battery shortage, but compounded by the fact that all existing cars need replacements (ok, maybe ones out of warranty will be excluded if the heater lasted that long). It does make me think however - according to their own media messaging, Porsche spent many YEARS testing the Taycan in the extreme heat and cold, WTF were they doing? Testing mission-E prototypes, declared them good to go, then redesigned individual parts and shipped them without testing?!? If they are going to copy Tesla in that regard (Tesla does this all the time), they really need to get the OTA going first (Tesla can deploy updates in less than 24 hrs to the entire fleet of many more cars than Taycans are out there), make the car a lot more software defined (allows for many more software workarounds issues), shorten their design to production times by a factor of 4 or greater, and get their supply chain shored up. The longest I ever had to deal with an untested Tesla redesigned part was 3.5 months, during which Tesla replaced the physical part 3 times, the 3rd was a fixed part which didn't fail in a couple of weeks of use - it was a motorized side mirror assembly.
2007, Mercedes-Benz W204. Extensively tested in extreme climates. MB traditionally always relied on Bosch injectors but since they just had acquired Delphi (a automative factory which was near bankruptcy), they assigned Delphi injectors to that car. 100k km tested and approved.

One year later, cars started to die on the roads. There were as many as 11k in front of dealerships waiting for replacement injectors. The demand was so high, MB started fitting "known bad" injectors just to keep cars on the roads. Injectors had to be coded to the specific car at the dealerships which made the whole thing even slower. Personally, over the first 5 years of ownership, I went through 4 sets of 4 injectors until MB finally nailed it. Average life spawn of the bad injectors was about 30k.

What happen? Why did they not fail during tests?

Apparently (and this has no official confirmation except what I been told by an Delphi associate), Delphi wanted to shine before MB that the factory had been a great investment so they wanted to show profit. How? When the injectors went into mass production, Instead of 5 drops of glue on each injector head (where the ceramic point inserts), they only put 2. Savings were massive.... Unfortunately the tip would break after 30k km...

So yeah, testing is great but most (if not all) parts factories try to optimize and save costs when moving from prototypes to mass production units so stuff like this can happen.

Final note, despite my car being out of warranty for 9 years now, injectors on the w204 have now lifetime warranty. My last two sets were after warranty expiration and they didn't charge me a dime. I'm glad my last set is lasting for over 150k and I hope I'll never have to change them again.

My dealer told me 2 to 3 weeks when mine was “finished” on 30 July last year but it then went into storage waiting for the 12V battery and I eventually got it delivered on 1 December.
The heater shortage seems to be the 2023 version of the 2022 battery shortage…

I don’t think it is! 992.2 being announced for MY 24 and Macan EV first. Yes there will be MY24 but don’t expect any major changes on Taycan.

This is exactly what I said to @Kev946, yet he gives you a "like", but he argues with me and gives me a sarcastic ":CWL:" when I say there is no official info from the factory.

@Kev946 , there is no facelift coming for MY24. The 992.2 and the new Macan are coming first. There have been delays to the release schedule. You're never going to get an official word from Porsche, and to think you would shows how naive you are.

Mine is also in Sheerness; SA will inform me when it is assigned to a transporter. My order clicked over to 5/5 this morning. Don’t known if that is significant.

Not sure how significant these are, we have had forum members on 3/5 who have been picking their car up!
FWIW mine went 3/5 on 16/4/22, 4/5 on 30/7/22 then 5/5 on 15/8/22 and I took delivery on 1/12/22 because of the 12V battery shortage, the heater shortage is effecting fewer cars (the 12V battery shortage stopped all of them) but is is a bit of an unknown still.

It looks like mine may be arriving at Grimsby this evening 11 March. Still showing 3/5.

Some folks love to argue but unless you are 100% sure on your facts there’s little point. I support Gary Linakers stand , others don’t.

Mine still at 4/5, but also said 3/5 when it was already at Emden so I havent been paying too much attention to it.

I think the item with major reliability problems is the high voltage heater, but the thermal management circuit for an EV is mush more than a cooling system and a heater, since the battery has its temperature warmed not just cooled to keep it in an optimum operating window so not needing a cabin heater does not mean not requiring the fix.
It's the HV heater used in the car's cabin / interior sometimes referred to as a heater matrix.
