I looked into the battery situation when mine was stuck in storage for months last year without a 12V battery.I will no longer comment on why I call it a wreck because a car that does not move is a car that wears out considerably (especially with a battery).
It seems that as long as the battery is neither fully charged or fully discharged deterioration is negligible. I imagine Porsche knows this so will store at 50% and disconnected.
We also don’t know how long batteries and cells have been stored between production and assembly into battery pack/car anyway but this will probably be short.
It seems the thing most influencing battery life is the amount of charge, ie if you use the car a lot so have frequent long charges the battery life is used up - it is mileage related.
The other influence is charge current, so if you mainly charge at high powered DC chargers the battery deterioration will be greater than if you mainly trickle charge at home.
So as long as the car is stored with the battery at a correct charge level the battery will be in better condition than a used one which has done a few thousand miles and been charged a lot on a high power DC charger.
I decided it wasn’t worth bothering about for me.
