I used Southeast Financial CU, and had applied March 8th. Two weeks later the 3% was 3.75% and now it's 4%. 72 month is 6.5% now though. Penfed was going to my second choice (with my own local CU 3rd at 5.99%) if SEFCU fell through. They have wacky rates, but they're legit. I financed $67k (put down about $83k). I have a personal rule from my Suze Orman days, that if I can't pay off a car in 3 years I can't afford it, but I considered 48 months at 4% just to give me a little emergency wiggle room, but I hate seeing that total interest number balloon when I run all the scenarios.

Even 5.5% for 72 mos sounds amazing right now. Congrats!
Thanks Interesting philosophy. I will be making early payments since this 5.5% at 72 Mo becomes my target as it is my worst loan. I will pay 10k right around September and another 10k in January. I am not too sad about my rate, I went with USAA.

Too bad about the 4.95 but I guess it could be worse. When I first got on the list last Summer, the SA was quoting 6+%, which was almost 2x the going rate at the time. More recently, I asked and he was say 7-8% and the Porsche website said 9+%. I was going to go with a credit union at 5.39 for 72 months and the SA asked me what rate I was getting and he came back with 5.54.

I, too, wish I could go with a shorter term with and lower rate - we could but we'd rather go this route - but I'm also putting down a large chunk and still financing about $95k.
wow 5.54% 72 Mo from the dealer is a great rate. Congrats. I used USAA which I think is not easy to be a member of. (I think) I am via my wife via my father in law.

I wish I could get USAA but I’m not eligible because no one in my family is/was military.

164K? thats a very high spec 4S
$154,910 MSRP taxes and dealer fees $164k

I was in between a GTS and a 4S. But with the 4S I could click more stuff. Plus I have driven my Model S for years and I don't need that imperceptible amount of extra HP and torque.

But the real reason I went with a 4S. Get a load of this. My brain does something weird when I see the GTS badge, it looks tacky and less classy than the 4S. I don't know why it just seems immature and unsophisticated. Like a car for a much younger person. I know I am wrong but can't help it. I could not get myself to buy a GTS.

I wonder if there is anyone else with a similar feeling with the GTS badge.

Mine is the opposite. I look at it as "there's an enthusiast." My GTS MSRP is also 154k and thankfully has everything I wanted without any extras.
Here's where my mind differs. I can't justify in my mind optioning a car that i'm financing with things that I can replace on my own. Like wheels/tires. I'll always get the stock option because I know in a year I'll get bored and get something different, yet I'm paying for them in the financing for the next 4-5 years. For this car, same with Innodrive. I took the ACC, but knowing I can buy Innodrive later, why finance it?

I get it. I debated not getting the wheels I wanted but I really wanted the mission E which cascades into an expensive buy. I looked at how to accomplish the same look with a 3rd party wheel option but at the end I was saving little and risking not getting the right look.
I did the same as you on innodrive.

Since our cars cost the same. We should post specs to see the difference (if you want). I will post mine.

I considered GTS at the last minute when I realized it would be only a modest bump in price, but my 4S was freezing in a day and to give it up and go on a whole new waitlist for a GTS made no sense. But in retrospect, I know I got the right car for me. Any upgrade, if affordable, would have been a Turbo. As much as I’m obsessed with the power and driving dynamics of this car, in the end it's about traditional luxury and safety for me. My pricier 4S upgrades were things like night vision assist, dynamic headlights, wood paneling, RAS and the packages. Parsing out all the now-or-later tech options was driving me batty so I just took the tech package and called it a day.

The 4S is an interesting trim in that it’s great close to base, but also is very upgradeable based on personal needs and preferences. I would venture a guess that many of the people who are “over-speccing” their 4S are probably customizing it for their own long-term driving enjoyment and less concerned with future drivers.

My regular CU has rates that are the same up to 60 or 72 months, usually. So I often take the 60 anyway, and then do like you and pay early. This time I have no safety net so I’ll just trust my cash flow spreadsheet and hope for the best ?.

Mine is apparently very near the port. Supposed to have arrived 4/14. Anyone know where / how I can track the actual ship? I might even go out and fly over the baltimore harbor to check it out haha. (Im Im a private pilot).

The only aesthetic upgrade I considered frivolous was the Porsche crest on the console. Everything else was to make the car look "right" to my eyes. No matter how you cut it, this is an expensive car and Porsche is a master at making it even more expensive!

Very similar stuff to mine. Except for the sports package. I am not sure frozen berry sports package would look good. What is in the technology package, did you get a HUD?
