Charge Taycan with Tesla home charger?

Tesla Tap Mini is your quickest and easiest solution (make sure you get one rated for your car's max current, so 60A minimum, 80A if you got the 19.2KW charger upgrade on your Taycan). You can use that adapter on trips with Tesla destination chargers too, and allows you to carry a Tesla Mobile Connector instead of Porsche PMC+/PMCC to save on space and weight for mobile charging.

The other way is to swap out the HPWC cable or even just the plug, though J1772 plugs are hard to come by. If converting, there should be a dip switch inside to switch the charge to Legacy Mode, which makes the Taycan start charging faster (1s vs. maybe 10 seconds) after plugging in. Without legacy mode the Taycan does not throw any errors, just takes longer to start charging (at least my Taycan does, it's a MY23 with 19.2KW onboard charger). When using TeslaTap adapter, legacy mode is not an issue as long as you plug the adapter in first, 10s before plugging into the Taycan.

it's easier to just order the Tesla Wall Charger w/J-1772 plug - it works great - but I still recommend the TeslaTap for away from home use.

That looks like the 60A version, which should work unless you have the 19.2KW upgrade for your Taycan, then you need the 80A version.

spoke to the electrician whne we first got the model 3. I orderd a tesla wall connector and he said return it, we will intall a outlet on the wall and you will use the mobile charger the tesla comes with. I was skeptical but hes the pro and it made sense. worked like a charm and if we ever need to take it with us ( never) we just unplug it and put it in the frunk. When the taycan was comming I ordered the tesla tap and it works like a charme with the wall connector. We now Charge a Model 3, taycan and model Y off the same tesla Wall connector. All is good in the hood.

I charged my Model S'es for almost a decade, 99% of the time from a NEMA 14-50 and using a 40A Tesla Mobile. I have a dual 80A HPWC installed, but it was on the wrong side of the garage, less convenient to use, so while my wife's Model S always used the HPWC, I usually charged mine using a Mobile Connector. That said, given what I know about PMC+/PMCC, I don't think I would do the same using Porsche mobile chargers plugged into NEMA 14-50. Since Taycan has charge ports on the opposite end of the car, I converted one of the HPWC's to J1772 and charge my Taycan from that.

That said, generally I would recommend hardwiring a charger in a personal garage, especially for a Porsche. Also, if you're looking to unplug your charger a lot, keep in mind that NEMA 14-50 sockets are not rated for frequent plug-unplug cycles - they wear out.
