I think it’s under ‘traffic signs’ on the HUD menu - it’s currently on the Taycan I’ve been driving.

Personally I’m happy I didn’t spec HUD, as I prefer the look of the instrument binnacle without, and I find the HUD distracting, even with brightness and minimum (-10). Given that you can easily set up the main screens to show you exactly what you need to see at-a-glance then I’m glad I saved the money!

I asked the same question when I took delivery of my 4s earlier this month and I was told the traffic sign recognition is not enabled in Oz. Yes you can see the traffic speed sign in the PCM but not on the main instrument cluster nor HUD. Hence you cannot find the settings. I wish the traffic sign recognition is enabled as in my previous BMWs.

Thank you for this. The only two things that I wish it did was have the speed recognition and a better 360 camera. Otherwise it's an amazing car. Charging infrastructure is disappointing.

In Australia, it is specced on all taycans by default to meet the safety ratings. I think I have been so used to it on the Bmw that I miss it. They also by default charge you for the charging subscription and the Porsche wall charger. ?

Just need to glance at my PCM then :)

I had it on my previous BMWs too and also have it on the Taycan. Really practical for reading speed and ACC settings. Same info is in the PCM but I still find the HUD practical and I prefer the look. I would really miss it if I didn’t have it.

To clarify though the speed sign limit does not show up on the HUD right?

I find it's very useful, especially on long drives. There are situations where it is distracting, such as when there are a lot of rain drops on the windshield, or when traveling through hilly streets with white markings, where the HUD blends into the on-street signage, or few other situations. This is why I programmed the diamond button on my steering wheel to turn it on/off (you can also use stored comfort profiles - the 3 buttons on the door). I don't have exact numbers, but I will say I have it on 80% of the time. I turn it off when I find it distracting, but obviously I must like it because I keep remembering to turn it back on.

On-topic, just for completeness, the speed limit shows up on the HUD for me in the USA.

As you can see in the pic; the speed and speed limit is displayed on my HUD but I don't think its always on. I have never made any adjustments in settings, all default. I think it depends on the data available for that GPS location.

Thanks so much. I'll have another look at this.

Keeping it under 50% over speed limit I see.

It also displays in the left tube of the main instrument binnacle amongst other places.

I actually slowed down to 'safely' take the pic. That car just begs for more on these mountain passes and who am I to deny it...?
Pure bliss!

I have done something similar. I have the diamond button programmed to it on the instrument screen. I always turn it off at night because I feel the need to have full view of the road at night. I think I worry about hazards on the road at night. But I really benefit from the data during the day.
