My TYD updated from a 5/23/23 delivery date to 6/15/23. At least its updating, so we'll see if that sticks. Car is literally less than 300 miles from my house, argh lol
Same here, as you called it, updated to 6/15 that seems like a placeholder for everyone now at a US port.

Got told this morning that mine’s in the bad one. Build date was end of April so need to wait until middle of next month before they can run the 50 day+ test.

Does anyone have any idea what the issue they’re looking for is? The dealer claimed ignorance again.

My bad, I got this via email on Friday (one week after being told I couldn't pick up).

The stop sale on the Taycans are split into 2 groups, recall 8 and recall 9. Recall 9’s are delayed for around 6 weeks, recall 8’s are imminent.
The good news is yours is recall 8. This means that we processed the update to Porsche on the 24th and are just awaiting confirmation to register. This will hopefully be over the next couple of days. We have everything we need so the minute we have confirmation we can register I’ll pick up the phone and get you in the car.
Sadly a week later and I still haven't got mine and it's still not been released by Porsche

I picked mine up may 15th. Two days before this stop sale started. My car was a late April build (second to third week of April).

I wonder why they didn't placed or recalled my car. It must be from the same batch as others here

If you search on the Porsche website for current recalls, you can add your VIN to check. Mine came back with zero recalls. Have any of those that have already been told there IS an issue with their car tried this search? Just wondering if this is an indication of whether my car is affected or not.

Thank you but isn't that just for the USA?
It does return 0 recalls for my car but I'm Europe based

if the 50 days thing is whats causing the delay then everyone who ordered a car in the west coast of US should have gotten the car, for example my car exit production 4/6/23, left port on 5/5/23, arriving at local port on 6/7. Doing the math on that, it well over 50 days to run the test. Any members in here from the west coast of US can probably confirm if they have gotten delivery yet.

Your dealer is Cambridge if my memory serves me? I’m also buying through Cambridge but have not been given this info, I probed last night and was told that my car should be seen to this week and data sent to Porsche. Build date was beginning of May though so nowhere near the 50 day mark, all very confusing and frustrating. I wish they’d just send a blanket email to everyone with some concrete info to stop all the guessing games.
Also OPC Cambridge here, car sat at Emden for a month now, before the stop sale or should I say before the announcement of the stop sale at least.

I was really lucky with regards to Emden, mine flew through, business partners has been sat there for a month though, much like yours. Starting to look at the second hand market and put some feelers out so I have some back up options. I just don’t have any faith that my car is going to be with me any time soon. Not sure what would happen to my deposit though.

Just had an update from my dealer - the 50 day battery thing in definitely what’s causing the delay. If there is no water ingress after 50 days it can be released. Now need to confirm the completion date to work out when it will be ready . ( presuming there is no water ingress that is ?)
Sound made up, unless they make sure the car has sufficient water exposure during the 50 days. What if it’s sitting in a showroom? It wouldn’t be the first thing I’ve heard SA’s make up to pacify customers.

@OzzieT After your post, I read a couple of news articles about Australia quarantining cars. Wow. Never imagined that an imported car could have what the articles call "biosafety" risks. Articles mention six-week delays. I wonder how they identify and clean 'bio-unsafe' cars. This globalization thing isn't all it's cracked up to be.
