I curbed my front left after just a few days of ownership. Now I'm used to the car I feel it's very unlikely that I'll curb the wheels again because I use the wheel cam when parking (I think from the surround camera option) which is awesome. I'm actually less likely to curb the Taycan wheels than my old Golf because of this magical camera view.

Ah man, sorry to hear that. I'm staying away from diamond cuts or carbon fibre. Just give me a wheel I can rub down and spray black! Surround view is an absolute must that's for sure. Do you switch from the birds-eye view to a view from the mirrors?

Hi. Currently on my second EV, a BMW i4 M50 (a very good car). In the absence of anything else as good looking and also electrified, the Taycan is a distinct possibility as the next stop on my automotive journey to bankruptcy. But it wont fit in my old garage. The M50 is snug; I'm not sure the Taycan will even go through the door. So is it mad to buy such an expensive car and leave it on a driveway open to the extremes of British weather?

Also, how many people have kerbed wheels because this thing is as wide as an I-Pace (whose £4K carbon fibre insert wheels I kerbed in a damned multi-storey)? Man, I hate kerbing wheels, and I feel the Porsche is tailor-made for it.
yes it’s a 2000 kg 14 m3 steel and aluminium mastodont, but the 598 Hp, surround view (Park assist) and all wheel steer (RAS) make it very agile.
In reality it feels nimble, swift and flexible, full of tricks to keep the driver happy…
And «happy» is what matters, isn’t it?

In the end, I just couldn’t go for the Taycan. I bought a new i4 M50 and am considering a second car. I do like the 911 Targas but may now wait for the electric 718.

I used Total Loss Gap too, added on tyre insurance too seeing as the tyres aren't cheap on the Taycan.

Complete Wheel Up to 2 Tyres & 2 Alloy Wheel Claims Per Year
Cover: 3 Years
Price: £330.28

Actually i took out the alloy and smart care insurance for any small dings so it's £299 for alloy and dings up to 4 claims per year.

Do they dictate the repair - who/where/how? If so do you have details you can share? TIA

Was pretty easy i made a claim paid the £10 per wheel excess and then had a company call and arrange a time and come to the house to do the wheels.
