Hi all - newbie to this forum (and to EVs) - I've pretty much decided to buy a Taycan and was looking at the 4s - local (Bay Area, CA) dealer has a loaded white new 2023 Taycan base loaded (tech pack, perf batt, air susp, rear axel steering, etc. - window sticker attached). I've also been looking at a 2022 GTS in Houston similarly equipped:

https://www.porschenorthhouston.com/used-Houston-2022-Porsche-Taycan-GTS-WP0AD2Y1XNSA59430

The kicker is that in CA there's a $7500 credit ONLY for leasing a new Porsche - so that would make this base model about $113K - maybe $12K less than the '22 GTS (plus shipping).

I'm torn and would appreciate any "It's a no brainer - take the XXXX" thoughts/advice. I'm coming from a 2020 MB C63s coupe and an M4 before that.

Thanks!
Ian

Thank you both - @tchavei - are you liking your RWD? I'm still considering both given that with shipping, additional taxes, etc., it's probably a $15K price difference...

I am a RWD owner too.

Love the car, but would also defo go GTS in your situation.

Many think the GTS is the sweet spot.

Absolutely! Bear in mind that despite being "only" a RWD, I did spec stuff like air suspension, sport chrono, etc. Basically added what I considered a benefit while trying to keep price and weight low. I bought new so I had to take in all the deprecation which is fine because I'm not selling it anytime soon but if I wanted the best bang for the buck, I'd go for second hand market.

The rwd will get you in legal trouble in just a few seconds. I couldn't justify the €25k difference over a 4S just to lose my license faster ?.

So far no regrets.

Thanks - sounds like you did great - and very sound reasoning! :)

Thanks for doing that search and posting that - that turbo is tempting, but 2 years older than the GTS and with fewer options (in particular, the tech package with heads up display is appealing given how used to that I've become in my previous cars) - but you're right about the advantages of seeing it in person, for sure!

GTS no question. Also worth noting you could get a CPO Turbo for a similar price.

Can you lease to purchase to get the 7500 off?

You should go with the GTS. Completely different car in my opinion.
