Another question. If the battery proves to be indeed degrading faster than normal and we bring it in for warranty service, does Porsche actually replace the battery or just use the software to release the reserved capacity?

Here is that link to one shot of my battery cell voltage map I referred to previously from relevant page in the CarScanner output - again, would be curious to see if there are any non-reporting/non-responsive cells in your battery?

The battery has to show an SoH less than 80% within the 80K mile warranty period (or is it 70% as someone else said - apologies, I need to re-read warranty!) - if your battery is deemed fully operable and within warranty performance metrics it would not be replaced. Now of course others have had batteries replaced but more typically I think related to hardware failures but defer to those folk.

@ciaranob, How do I get this info from the OBD?

App not in front of me right now but there is a (next) Page button in the CarScanner output interface- the output page you shared before is just one page - just keep toggling (there are a LOT of pages) and this one will pop up.

Just a bit of perspective - the SoH chart in my thread is of course 'zoomed' in re SoH scale i.e. your reading is only 1-3% worse than other Warm and Hot climate cars and if further degradation slows down as it does with the vast majority of EV's tested to date (non-Taycan) you could still follow the predicted long term trend I am 'projecting' in my chart.

So again a little more testing (as prev described) might add at least 1% pt. back to your SoH and you'd be even more in trend! If there is a loss of say 1-2% due to Battery vintage/chemistry issues then you'd be totally in line with other cars.

BTW, are you by chance in furthest S. CA or more north i.e. is your local climate leaning towards Hot vs Warm as defined in the Baseline Thread?

@ciaranob , Here is mine. What does that mean?

I am in San Francisco. Moderate Temperature zone. So the degradation is very bad if indeed it is true.

For ref., SF is just above the Hot climate zone i.e. LA is in the Hot zone. So you may share more with Hot climate Soh's.

In respect the Cell Voltage map - as others have suggested (not sure if this is 100% accurate), the thought was that the Soh calculation may be biased towards the worst performing cells!

So in your chart ( #82 ) I see a number of cells that are, albeit only fractionally, below average (compare to mine which is almost flat in respect adjacent cell variation) - bit of a stretch I know but could this possibly be part of the explanation for your lower SoH - but this variation not enough to detrimentally impact your range estimates perhaps?

I am now most def. speculating!

How is this map related to battery health? What are the X and Y axis? How does voltage relate to battery SoH?

@ciaranob , my car was built July 2021. I wonder if that has the old battery or new.

Apologies - traveling/busy so hit and miss next week but will follow up - put query out in Baseline thread too - don’t know re exactly when the old to newer battery transition occurred but possibly search thread? Does sound like you might be right at that time though.

@ciaranob , No apology necessary. Thanks for all your feedbacks so far.

Now I need opinions from all you guys.
Apparently, I have a questionable battery.
The Porsche Battery Warranty is:
• Less than 80% of net battery capacity within the first 3 years/37,500 miles, whichever occurs first.

I already have only 85.85% after 21 months of use from exclusive DC 150kW charging. And suspect that I have the old battery wit the less than ideal chemistry. With 6% more of loss to go, I would reach that 80% threshold for warranty Battery replacement.

1. Should I continue to use the DC charging to se if I can push this below 80% within the next 15 months?
2. What do you think the likelihood is there that it would reach the threshold with this time frame?
3. I am afraid if start to use AC charging and not reach the 80%, I would be stuck with a poorly functioning battery.
4. Did you think the Porsche would actually replace the battery or just play with the reserve to bring it back up to acceptable usable capacity? If that happen, I am still stuck with a bad battery and now with even less reserve.

Production date of many internal components (including HV BMS), can be revealed with Car Scanner app / ECU Identifiers section.

However I could not find the production date of the battery pack with Car Scanner.
