Interesting that they had no trace of the fault in the logs.

Out of curiosity, did you switch off and lock the car when you arrived at the dealer?

I had a lot of trouble during 2022 and every time I v]came to the dealer there was no trace of anything. Then once when I had all the faults in the display I arrived but did not switch off the car or lock it. The technician took readings directly and sent to Germany and that helped and solved my issues. Once the car was switched off all faults had cleared. So poor sw engineering
The fault cleard itself en-route to the dealer, so even though it showed on the dash and PCM multiple times in the 4 weeks waiting for the garage appointment by the time I got both the warning page and the fault in the PCM had gone.

I had intended not to switch the car off when I arrived so they could see and check the messages, but they had gone en-route.

The dealer visit wasn’t totally fruitless, at least the vacuum cup is still available

I need to find one of those. I have one in Python Green and it’s just not the same.

I hope that came full of Porsche coffee. Loading up on free coffee and food is how I am eventually going to get my money back from Porsche.

So the service department's response was, everything looks ok now, go away?
Nothing about what conditions could cause the errors and the behaviors you saw, research with Porsche Germany, etc?
Just a temporary glitch that lasted since a month since July 6?
And, if it happens again, wait a month for us to work you in and bring it back in....
Ugh.

Not as blunt as that.
They did time going through logged faults in the control units, they took it for a test drive and checked the clutches in the transmission.
They didn't find anything which may explain the fault.
They did ask me to photograph the display if iit happened again so I told them I already had at the beginning and sent then the photo.

Regarding your question, it could be anything from a sensor glitch to something more serious. It's good you're reaching out for advice. Have you checked with your dealer or a mechanic yet? Sometimes they can diagnose it pretty quickly.

By the way, if anyone's looking for advice on transmissions, I recently stumbled upon this forum thread discussing transmission issues and someone mentioned they have a 700r4 transmission for sale. Might be worth checking out if that fits your needs!

So Porsche not doing as well as Mercedes, Ferrari and Toyota for me...
Come on, you can't really compare Porsche to Toyota as far as reliability. They might not have embraced EVs, but Toyota reliability is world famous. I refer you to Top Gear's repeated attempt to kill a Toyota pick up truck. IIRC in their final attempt they placed it on top of a multi-story building which was demolished with explosives, after which they still managed to start it and drive away. I DARE YOU to try this with your Taycan (which hasn't endured other stunts trying to kill it that Toyota has by Top Gear).

I remember that episode. I haven't tried that with any of the Toyotas we have had over the last 40 years either, though never a truck, obviously.

The self curing of the fault matched a Porsche dealer instruction which came out later, and @Tooney posted, which suggested sudden acceleration, so my guess is the rear clutch sticking.
It hasn't happened again, so maybe a burr on a machined part needed "running in".

I am still shocked the fault did not persist. Even silly "faulty rear left/right tail turn signal" warnings persisted when I retrofitted Euro tail lights on my NA Taycan, even after the tail lights were connected correctly. The errors disappeared from the IC, but were still showing in PIWIS, where they were easy to clear, but still had to explicitly cleared.

Just got this:
IMG_6918.jpeg

It happened first yesterday evening on my way home from dropping off my daughter after driving a mile or two.

I drove it again this morning to see if it had had a miraculous reset and again after a mile to so the alarm came up, and on the way home it came on almost straight away.

It seems to be related to the regenerative braking since it happened from “cold” at about the distance regenerative braking usually starts and on the second run today as soon as I touched the brakes and regenerative braking seems disabled, though the liftoff slowing like a ICE car simulation stays as normal, so related to brake pedal itself.
hi feng i have basically same issue but my turned red n wont go into drive or reverse mode. also showing high volted activated. what was the cus for the trans error or how was it fixed.
