Is there a warranty on the Porsche charger? Mine started acting up recently, so just wondering if I should ask the dealership?

To note I never did the recommended service/update on it.

Super helpful, thank you. I'm just over 2 years but installed it myself, so seems like I'm screwed anyway.
doesn't hurt to ask - and I'm not sure what "installed myself" means if it's a pluggable charger - it's design to be "self" installed - it's a mobile charger - which means customers are expected to "install" it at home, while on the road - etc…

if they do not "fix" it under warranty however there is no way in hell I can recommend paying Porche's prices for a replacement unit - you'll be better served by purchasing one of many excellent alternate EVSE's from any one of many vendors…the Porsche EVSE is just too expensive and too crappy…

thanks to @Tooney not me…

The article just mentions professionally installed.. I'll try troubleshooting it a bit more.

Sorry that it's acting up...so far Porsche's "fix" has been to cut the power to 50%.

I would strongly endorse any of the following:

- Wallbox Pulsar Plus (my favorite)
- Chargepoint Flex
- The new Tesla universal wall connector

When I switched from my 2021 to 2023 Taycan I didn't even open the PMCC. Tossed it in a closet for the next buyer. I won't even take it on a road trip.

Yup, that's why I avoided the Porsche fix, but I think that also caused it to overload itself and break recently.

Have you tried doing the factory reset on the unit and going through the limited setup steps again? I was having problems with mine when I got my CPO car (charger had never been used), and after doing a reset it was able to link it to my Porsche account so I can now see the charging logs from the car in the App, under the Account section -> "charging equipment".

While it's not really necessary, it's nice to see the charging logs and I don't think you'd get that with a 3rd part unit, although I don't think it's worth the extra cost just to have that ability.

Too bad Porsche doesn't roll-up all charging (home and public) under a single log to allow exporting for range tracking and expenses.

Do you happen to have the reset instructions? The issue currently is it shows all red lights randomly (and it's happening more often now).

If this is the mobile charger (with the 120v or 240v plug), which is what I assumed you were referring to, the reset is in the menu, tap the gear icon and scroll scroll down a few pages to the factor reset option.
