Hi all,

I just got Taycan 4S last week, wanted members suggestion / advice on Bike Rack [ I own a mountain bike - Talon Giant]. Is Rear preferred over the roof ones?

Also, for those of us in Sf bay, what are some good places to bike, enjoy fresh breeze, and see good + smiling faces around.

Happy to be here!

For mtn biking, this is awesome to try: https://www.epicentershuttle.com/shuttle

You park your car at the bottom of the mountain and the shuttle drives you and your bike up to the top of the Santa Cruz mountains. You bike downhill for about 2 hours through the forest and then eat lunch at Aptos St. BBQ at the bottom. Super fun!

If you have a panoramaroof then this may be a nice solution. Roof Rack with Thule Bike Rack and Vector installed on Taycan sedan original made for bikes...

I have a suction rack that can handle three bikes, takes a little bit of getting used to and my longest journey to date was 45 minutes each way.

It works well, is quick to install/remove and easy to store, but I wouldn't leave the car unattended as it is simple to remove and you could find your bikes missing when you return.

Available on Amazon UK : https://amzn.eu/d/f157ipi

If you have the glass roof you have the holes to properly bolt on roof bars. This forum sees loads of glass roof problems. If you load it and it cracks and it’s not a warranty issue it will cost you.
Get the roof bars.
Less than £400 plus £200 for bike holder. The roof is so low it makes throwing bikes on very easy.
Thule bars as little as £250 plus £100 for bike holder.
The rear carrier is a truly bonkers £2348 assuming you have the £380 extra that ‘allows’ you to fit it to ST/CT.

The danger of roof mounting is of course forgetting, like in the other thread.
I have a friend who peeled open her BMW roof like a tin of sardines after driving under a car park barrier where she was actually going to park up and ride. Bike trashed obviously and she could see blue sky!

Anybody know who makes the porsche roofbars? I’m wondering if the Thule ski and bike carriers are compatible?

I still have the Porsche original equipment roof bars for sale. You can find the full advert if you search for my posts. I think I asked £300. They cost £450
You can have them for £200 now
Message me
THEY ARE FOR A SALOON WITH A PAN ROOF ONLY
Please don’t ask me if they fit a saloon without the glass roof. They DONT
They DONT fit ANY kind of ST or CT
