I finally got my Taycan and I can now use the bars I got from Willy earlier this year. I was thinking about how everyone has their must have options for the car, but for me the only real must is a solid way to transport bikes, and this thing is it!

I feel like it's actually more convenient than my 2" hitch Yakima rack I use on my Jeep. Yes, there are two bars instead of one, and there are a few more bolts, but overall it is easier to take on and off because it's lighter and breaks down into something easier to store in the garage. It's also holds the bike more securely, both in terms of the 1up trays having less flex than the yakima trays, and in terms of the 2 bars going into the vehicle having less sway than the 2" receiver hitch.

@bsclywilly or others,

Question- is there's a manual override for the rear parking sensor? I've made a breakthrough in tracking down the NG1 parts for the retrofit on my GTS ST. I'm pretty committed to getting this retro fit done, including sourcing a 2025 rear valance

I'm guessing the harness will not work without programming. Can someone describe how the harness plug works ? @bsclywilly i recall people were also installing something on the harness plug to trick the rear sensor?

The plug that goes into the 13 pin connector is to power auxiliary lights. My trailer plug just has resistors in line instead of lights. It would be interesting if the non-NG1 equipped ST (less likely the sedan) can have the NG1 harness plugged in directly. My guess is that the CT harness has the trailer lights on a separate circuit than the rear lights so that when the trailer plug is connected it knows to shut off the rear PDC and power lift gate.

Some what happens when you put the car on reverse with these rear mounted accessories?

Nothing happens. The rear pdc is disabled so there are no beeps or proximity warnings on the park distance graphic.

When driving, LCA is also disabled. And the power lift gate is disabled from the key fob and the center console but you can still open the tailgate from the exterior button.

Without the trailer plug, you can also manually turn off the pdc by just pressing the X on that screen so not having the harness is not that big a deal. Or just deal with the beeps while in reverse.

This rack system continues to impress me. Here it is with 2 Priority Current Plus e-bikes on it. The rear fender is a problem that I solved by adding 4 of these wheel saver attachments from 1UP USA.

Finally getting around to putting the bars to use more often. Only the gravel bike so far so still need to try the heavier e-bike but no doubts it’s just as sturdy. Kuats are solid and found them months back on sale, free shipping and tax free.

Here is my setup of one of the final batches of these bars. Decided to go with the cheapest 1up mounts.

I have one of the plugs that goes into the 13 pin connector for sale if anyone is interested.

Please do you have the dimensions or a plan? I have a CNC machine and maybe I could make it, it would be a great help if you could share the dimensions of these rods (diameter, material...)

Hello!
I just purchased a Taycan Cross Turismo and am looking for a Willy bike rack. These racks look incredible!! Well done Will!
Any chance anyone has one they would like to sell?
Any interest in making any more if no one has one to sell?
Thanks in advance for any help 😊

Hi! I still have a few of these available. Would that be of interest to you? With this, you can simply attach a universal bike rack.
