I see that this is a UK thread, so maybe there is a difference between UK and Norwegian Ionity stalls. But I was not able to charge an Audi at Ionity with the Porsche charging card. Those who have done the equivalent in UK: any special tricks?

My solution for the Audi tour was to get the genuine Tesla app, subscribe for a month and use Tesla superchargers. That worked so well that I'll consider that method instead of renewing Porsche charging when the three-year car-included period is over. Acceptable charging speed, very good coverage.
In the UK the DC port is on the left side of the car, so to charge at a V2/V3 Tesla site requires (usually) parking in the "wrong" bay, which can make you slightly unpopular if the site is busy, as you're effectively taking up two spots.

At the moment we have 27 30 [(Eurocentral (12 x V2), Fort William (6 x V3) and Inverness (6 x V2) just opened today] open to non-Tesla Supercharger sites in the UK, out of around 120 sites in total.

V4 sites tend to alleviate the cable issue, and I've certainly not had an issue when I charged on one with the Taycan. At the moment there are only three V4 Tesla sites in the UK. They do at least all have contactless on the V4 posts which is handy if you don't have the app.

I cant speak for using the PCS card at Ionity with a non-Taycan, as up until now I've only ever owned a Tesla and Porsche, but have a Genesis GV60 Sport Plus coming in the next fortnight, so I might try it with that (although I believe that also has its own preferential charging scheme. Something I need to follow up on actually).

It was a pretty new one, so new in fact that they haven’t opened the McD next to it yet. Was a 300kw machine and must have been 800v. I got about 240 for a very short time then dropped off to about 150. Battery was about 35% soc at the time. I also got the pop up message on the dash saying the charge rate was restricted by the infrastructure that may result in slower charging (or some such wording).
I was the only car charging - about 8 stalls.
Just discovered a neat way to get a record of the charge curve mapped...

The Kempower chargers at Osprey, produce a QR code on screen for your session. Once the session is complete take a photo of the screen on your phone or directly open the QR code - this takes you to the kempower.io website with the basic stats of your charge session with a large battery graphic.

If you click on the battery icon on that page it will open up another page with the charge curve for the entire session mapped against the SoC. You can place your finger anywhere along the curve to get the power output and SoC numbers at any point along the curve.

Very neat!

Now just to find a suitable way to discern the 400V Kempower sites from the better 800V Kempower sites that Osprey install. Unfortunately a lot of them are mis-represented in the Porsche App (and even in Opsrey's own app).....like the one below which is actually a 6 bay 400v / 150 kW site and not a 10 bay 320 kW site!! ?

A clever find - although if you want to see charge curves for all charges, try a subscription to Tronity:

Nice! I signed up to the 14-day free trial. See how it goes.

I used to use Tessie to do similar when I had my Tesla ?

good luck. Only had Tronity a couple of weeks but it is promising, albeit full of bugs And hampered by some unreliable data from the car (breaks on connectivity, etc). Dev team seems responsive.

Weird so I just noticed that the Osprey site near Capel St Mary has changed its description on the Porsche app to accurately reflect its true CCS2 power output - 150 kW.

As I charged there on Sunday, I'm wondering if something got feed back through the Porsche network? Who knows anyway at least its now listing the right power, but still the wrong number of bays - its only 6.

Meanwhile the site barely 4 miles upon the road at the Ipswich P&R is still showing 300 kW. It's definitely a 150 kW only site. Maybe I need to take the Taycan there to charge and correct it!! ?

[It also doesn't have 14 bays there before you all get too excited. More like 6]

Can the Taycan be upgraded to 150kw charging? Assuming you can only get 50kw at tesla without it?

Unlikely the upgrade can be retro fitted and if so it would be cost prohibitive. Check with you dealer but don't get your hopes up.

Not sure about ROI but there are other 150kw EVSE providers and so you may not be limited to Tesla - finding a needle in a haystack may be easier though as the voltage is the last piece of useful information made visible on most EVSEs. Note also that some 150kW EVSEs may be 800v in which case your Taycan can take advantage - in uk MFG forecourts have these devices.

Hope this is the right thread - the newish OPC High Wycombe (close to the M40) has a large car park with 2 rapid chargers (400kW) usually accessible.

Some Kempower units are also setup as either 400v only or dual 400v/800v capable.

Sainsbury’s are in the process of building their own charging network (Smart Charge) they launched the name in early January but have been steadily building hubs for the last 6 months. There are 30 hubs now nationally and growing weekly. They will build 100 hubs by the end of 2024.

Most of their sites are setup as 150 kW @ 400v and you can easily see from the display on the Kempower satellite. The odd one is capable of 300 kW @ 800v though.

I stopped at Low Hall (Walthamstow) the other night and got a nice healthy peak rate of 243kW. Shame about the prices though at 75p per unit. Hopefully we’ll get to proper supermarket pricing eventually.

edit: Sainsbury’s Smart Charge now show up in the Porsche nav with real time data on usage too ?
