We've already done the very straightforward 2 year service ourselves based on time, before getting any reminder from the car.

Concerned the car will soon pop up the service reminder. We have access to a PIWIS III in fact we played around with it for a bit, but could not find where / how to reset the service reminders. Does anyone know how?

I don't have an answer to your question, but I have one for you.
Can you personally confirm/verify that a PIWIS device will display the HV battery state of health (SoH)?

I really dont know how to use it and am a bit afraid to mess anything up on the car. Ill try to see if I can find that menu option next time I get access to it. There are TONS of different menus, some in german (I had to use Google translate).

Hopefully someone here who knows their way around it can chime in. If some of these basic useful PIWIS functions can be posted, it would make for a good DIY article.

You can reset some of the reminders from the PCM. In vehicle settings, but you can get into the service reminders. In there, you can touch each service and there is an option to say it's been replaced/fixed, etc. i did this for the cabin filter.

Success! Thank you

But cant do the same thing to clear “replace brake fluid” which it shows due in a few days so unless we figure this out, we will be getting a popup on the cluster soon :(

I was able to use the PIWIS again and got it figured out this time. You have to select diagnostics, connect to the car, then select “Instrument Cluster (004)”, then finally “Maintenance repairs”:
Porsche Taycan Reset Service Reminders / Update Last Service Date with PIWIS III 1

At that point you will be presented with the “Resetting maintenance interval” menu:

The key to remember and only non-intuitive part is you have to first select “Instrument Cluster (004)” to get to where you want to be. If I may editorialize a bit here, I would have to say I am disappointed at the fact that we as owners do not have access to reset the maintenance interval from the dashboard without a very expensive and proprietary piece of software that is not generally available outside the professional auto repair community. Most of our previous vehicles allowed the owner to reset all the maintenance reminders from the dashboard with no special tools. One of the promises of EVs is reduced routine maintenance, but inhibiting the owner’s ability to reset the service intervals and reminders, especially for very simple procedures like what’s involved in the 2 year service is a very bogus move! This is something we are going to keep our eye on when considering future purchases.

I was going to ask how the heck you have access to a personal copy of PIWIS but I guess you're in the industry, correct? Really liked how we could do this with the BMW software.

In regards the query re PIWIS and SoH - its really not a matter of whether the SW can 'access' the Soh (it can of course get a flash reading akin to any 3rd party OBDII tool) but, to my understanding, rather its that the Soh full determination requires a lengthy (usually multi-day) process of battery cycling etc. that once completely will deliver a better diagnostic determination of Soh, which of course PIWIS will dutifully pass on to you :).

Id like to own one but im afraid the economics are far out of whack for regular Taycan owners such as ourselves who would just use it a once or twice every couple of years for DIY, checking the SoH, or whathave you. Have you looked into getting one yourself? Prices are all over the place but are consistently in the 4-digits. Maybe in time there will be something more DIY-oriented.

It would be great if there could be a “PIWIS Lite” that could help owners with these basic things that we want to be able to do. Im afraid we will probably never see anything like that because the “Porsche Partners” (aka the dealerships) are very much afraid of losing service department revenue to EVs, so its almost a certainty that the e-Macan, 718, and the big 3-row EV SUV coming later will all be like this, where you will have to take it to the dealer to clear the key fob battery low warning even after you pop in a fresh CR2032 :(

Swipe up on the center display (didja know that you have more apps there?)
Tap Smart Service and you can tap on each service item and answer yes that the service was completed. Then put in a future date for your next general service. No need for expensive diagnostic schtuff.

You can get a PIWIS III for free on a French torrent site (community approved). You just need to have access to a W10 laptop, a VM (virtual machine) software and NEVER EVER connect your laptop running your VM to the internet.

I've had the dealer to reset my service indicator twice after proving I'd done the service work.

Has anyone found alternative to PiWIS for resetting services such as brake fluid etc? I do most of the work myself because i enjoy working on the car.

I mentioned this before, just swipe up on your Center display and you can reset all the service reminders.
