It's not also known as The Confuserator without good reason ? Porsche don't make it easy to clearly understand the complete detail of options (maybe some of it gets lost in translation from German).
That item is the simple manually-set cruise control.

I can only agree but what is the adaptive speed limiter??? Does adaptive here men just that you can set it at different levels and not one chosen by the mothership?

I guess it automatically adjusts the limiter to prevent the driver from accelerating beyond what the car thinks is the legislated speed limit (based on camera and satnav data), but probably doesn't slow the car when it encounters a lower limit. Or maybe it does if you also have ACC?

In the U.K. surely ACC is standard spec.

I don’t like it on any car I’ve had it on and greatly detest the long peloton of cars hogging the centre lane and speeding up and slowing in tandem that it encourages
I had given up on using it.

I was able to spec my car without and now have normal cruise and am back to using it again - yes!

I guess that is the joy of driving on U.K. roads with so much traffic. So many cars on so little space!

I have only positive experiences of it from the French, German and Scandinavian motorways. In Germany it can be great at some of the very frequent STAU. And so many Roadworks. Not really experienced the phenomena you describe here

My MY 2024 Taycan GTS has this feature: on driving off, there is a short pull on the seatbelts (at times freaking out some unexpecting passengers).

My MY 23 STT does not do this, or certainly not really noticeable. The loaner MY24 RWD I had recently did and it was both weird and annoying.

Not really experienced the phenomena you describe here

I like to drive at a steady speed and keep to the inside lane but change lane to overtake as necessary to maintain my steady speed - usually limit +VAT.
What happens on modestly busy roads now almost all cars have adaptive cruise is that just as you are pulling out to overtake a truck somebody with brain in neutral and adaptive cruise on will box you in with a long stream of cars behind them quite close. OR I am overtaking such a peloton in the outside lane and they all speed up in unison after the slow vehicle they sat behind pulls in.
Both irritate me a lot and with the way it works it encourages people to drive this way since it slows early and speeds up abruptly so changing lanes in the old “:correct” way is awful in modest traffic. It encourages people to stay in the middle lane all the time.
It works fine in heavy traffic but I plan my trips to avoid that now I can.

My GTS ST is @ Porsche Glasgow for the battery recall and software update.
I’ve had a 4s ST since Monday which is more or less a home from home.
One thing I noticed straight away was the seat belts pre tension as you drove off. I’ve had this in several cars including my 2020 RS4.
My GTS does not have this feature despite it stating it does in the standard spec.
Keen to hear from the group on this.

My 2023 Taycan GTS does tension the seatbelts as I drive off. USA version?

But OP has a GTS ST as he posted. In the U.K. surely ACC is standard spec. So in such case the automatic tensioner at start should be included. Since so many have it in this thread, I am very surprised that the dealer can not confirm the feature. ACC should be in the build sheet and then it might be some settings or they have forgot to activate the function when programming the cr.

Yes I saw that it was an optional extra. Got confused by the the text in the Confuserator.

Cruise control including adaptive speed limiter.

That is the text in the standard spec.

Oh is that standard with the Cruise Control???

I thought that feature was part of their InnoDrive package, which also needs ACC!

But I 100% agree with you that feature is absolutely useless and dangerous. Gets information from map data completely wrong and slams on the brakes. Luckily enough I hve been able to switch off that automatic adjustment of speed adjustments in InnoDrive.

Yeah plus its standard (UK). So you have cruise control, adaptive speed limiter (auto adjustment of speed by road sign), speed limiter (user set), and then Adaptive Cruise Control (option) with / without Innodrive (option).

Basic cruise control and speed limiter is more than enough!

Interesting, I just have standard cruise and hadn't noticed any adaptive speed limiter, so it must be off in my setup. I do get collision warning on occasion like overtaking a string of parked cars when another car coming the other way is waiting.
