Amazing. We’re literally all driving early version iPhones in the grand scheme of things. Think how much faster they’ve gotten, better screens, insane cameras, increased battery life, more powerful to handle countless high-powered apps… EV’s are in a similar boat in my opinion. Exciting times ahead !

One of my clients is an engineer with the company and has been telling me about this for 2 years. I’ve only mentioned bits about it for obvious reasons, but now it’s being made public. Going to be great times for EVs ahead.

All I know on this subject is that my investments in Quantumscape have turned thousands of dollars into hundreds of dollars.
Right there with you but I'm hoping patience pays off with this one?

I believe the main issue with QS’s battery has been the need to operate within very tight temperature ranges….once they can address that, rolling out to future EVs would have great potential

That is the difficulty already with current batteries not only a narrow temperature range but quite a low maximum making cooling with ambient air extremely bulky.

If a chiller/ heater is needed in the coolant circuit rather than just a heater there is a chance there will be significant parasitic power overhead in some climates.

We will see, I am an old engineer only expecting incremental gains over my lifetime.

The development of smart phones has been dependant on chip design and manufacture in an immature technology not battery advancement which has been going on over a century already. Absolute zero analogy IMO.
