Taycan only looks really special with the 21s, can look a bit normal to me with the 20s options. So if design is a top thing for you, you 100% have to go for the 21s. Looks so good.

However I find road noise very bad with 21s. So if cabin comfort is your top priority then you may well regret going for them.

19s would have been my choice, but my wife wouldn’t let me, haha. Cheaper wheels, Cheaper tyres, more comfort, lower road noise, less chance of damaging the tyre or wheel, better range. Sure I agree it doesn’t look as good as it could, but so many other benefits!

And in the past 20 years, suspension systems have improved dramatically that you don't even tell the different between the two.
On direct comparison on CT4S I felt a marked difference, actually, but the 21s were still fairly good for ride (most of the time ride is more important than ultimate grip on my journeys) and have both now since my summer tyres are on 21” and winter on 20”.

If the ride is very important to you my experience is the 20” is markedly better on a CT, if maybe not the others.

If I had liked the look of any of the 20” options I wouldn’t have bought the car on 21s but the Cross Turismo 21” wheel is the best looking wheel made for a Taycan to my eye, so I succumbed.

I was able to get the 20” winters on much better looking (again to my eye) wheels not offered here as standard with summer tyres.

...and without your PDCC, maybe the difference is even more noticeable between wheel sizes. I don't really have a valid comparison for my CT- my own on 20", the only 21" ones I've driven were all at the SEC, so mostly good surfaces, plus IIRC some had PDCC (not on my own), so probably not surprising that I got a favourable impression of ride quality.
On a related note, I've been surprised to feel that my winters give a slightly firmer ride than my summers- all on 20" wheels. I wonder if the pressures (all set to part load) are a contributary factor- summers at 2.6/2.4 F/R, winters 2.7/2.7, an interesting shift in F/R balance between the seasons.

On racing tyres the radial effective spring rate is pretty well proportional to inflation pressure. Low profile road tyres may be have a higher construction stiffness but no doubt higher pressure = stiffer.

It may just be tyre construction dictating different pressures rather than season type. The 4 recommended summer tyres for my sports car have hugely different recommended pressures to each other - probably set by track testing.

I've got 21in running P Zeros and do not regret it. Driven a few on 20in and the handling is so much worse imho.

In my view, the 20’s present a more mature, stately and sometimes purposeful look (like luxury or rugged…depending on the selection). The 21’s present a bit more of a sporty or youthful look. I dont think any of them are good or bad. When I flip through Porsche’s magazines that they send to the house, I find gorgeous examples of all of them.

Regarding looks, I think that the sedan and the Sport Turismo really benefits from running 21"s.

The Cross Turismo, on the other hand - pulls off the use of 20"s in a much better way. Something about its rougher image and the increased ride hight lets it use tires with a beefier sidewall and actually get away with it pretty well...

Also agree with @f1eng that the best looking OE 20"s are the TEquipment ones, sold primarily as winter wheel set by Porsche.

Apparently some people think going smaller is the way to go. 18" wheels on a Taycan (not mine):

The above car actually sold used at auction at $30K (~18%) over MSRP in 2022 (link to auction site - winning bid price does not include the $7,500 fee buyer pays).

Agreed. Was pleased that they are approved for car's with the carbon ceramic callipers too – they just about fit it!
