Great to see that they have approved a tyre from Hankook and in 21 inch.

one of the videos highlighted that just the new tyre and aeo Wheel design had increased the range by 40 km! That seems too good to be through. We knew the 21 inch tyres would be inefficient but this large an increase?

Intesting is also that the 21 inch dimensions fron thave reduced from 265 to 245/40?? Will also help efficiency with narrow tyre!
From your post on the breakdown of where the gains come from, if 40km is the tyres then that's most of the last bar of optimisation. Which should be available to all of us :)

Ah, but it is! One of the 5! docs in the press kit talks about increased heater power, as well as changes in the coolant routing/passages, to better harvest residual battery heat for cabin warmup.
There are specs on faster warming (and cooling) of both battery and cabin (in *C per min).
Good news for us then, no more diverting limited supply of heaters into production over repairs.

Went through the configurator for a 4S ST and a Turbo ST (no GTS yet). Some new more or less interesting options, but also missing some choices. For example not possible to get back seat design to match 18-way front seats, and electric charging port cover mandatory (causing a fake vent and potential winter problems).

And the prices, way up. Improvements in range and charging speed are great and welcome, but all in all very happy to keep my J1 I.

Few new weird constraints.

- If you want the Sport Sound, you have to get Bose or Burmester.
- if you want sport chrono, you need the performance battery
- you now have to pay for usb chargers in the car

Again this is interesting stuff and all moves in the right direction. I shall be interested to see what Porsche do with owners of MY23/24 cars when it comes to trade-in in 2025/26. Even though our Taycan's have gone through several refreshes, they're still the 1st gen product and as you'd expect will have 'interesting' values 2nd hand.

The price increase is quite large even in the UK, but unsurprising.

EDIT: interesting you can still configure a Taycan 1

EDIT 2: the front end they've deffo made look worse

After waxing lyrical to friends 7 family about how you don't NEED more range because the limiting factor is your bladder...now the facelift has more range I feel short changed :)

Given the huge advancements in this first facelift I'm excited to see the next upgrade which might coincide with time to replace my current car

Okay, I did the maths related to real life range for a 4S with the big battery, based on specs from the European configurator.
It seems the average combined range based on given efficiency will go from 445 kms / 275 miles (3.2 miles per kWh) to 522 kms / 325 miles (3.5 miles per kwh). So a 50 miles increase. Not bad but far from the advertisement videos.

Here's a question that I don't think has been addressed on here. The Taycan is being listed as the Taycan II on the website, so have they skipped the concept of a facelift and this is just considered the second generation? It's irrelevant I guess other than how long the next update might be

Both are based on the J1 platform (J1 I and J1 II) so I would stick with a Phase 2 of the Taycan instead of Taycan II

A masterclass in upsetting your current customer base, my taycan is the worst financial decision I have ever made and now with this it’s worth even less.
The worst financial decision I ever made was having kids, not sure this car even makes the top 10. With that said, I don't regret either. As long as you make more good financial decisions than bad in the end, you'll be ok.
