Hi, been a Taycan GTS ST owner for over a year now. I've listed the car for sale over a month ago and according to mobile.de the price was brilliant. I've reduced the price several times since listing with no interest generated so far. Is anyone else having trouble selling?

I know the face-lift came out, but considering the price increase I feel like a year old Taycan with just 30k km on it should be a bargain. I see a lot of other cars not being bought and I find it strange.

I have been looking at a EQS. Great offer, 20 k discount.

Purchased my 4 CT for 135 K, 20 months ago. 20 k first downpayment and 1600 monthly. Leasing company will allow to break the 48 month lease for 80 K.

Mercedes was quite positive they could buy my Taycan for that. After two weeks got a message that that max offer they got was 62 K. I passed.

Tried to sell it my self with online sale thar worked really well in the past. No interest at all after two weeks. Not even an offer.

seems to be really hard to sell. Also a lot of private sales on autoscout

not a good time to sell

will keep on driving it till the end of contract and give it back to the lease company. Glad I don’t have to buy it at the end of the lease.

Taycan is an enthusiast vehicle. The vast majority of interested enthusiasts are either current or former Taycan owners. It will be hard to increase the size of this club. Gen 2 is a nice car but I suspect it will be challenged on sales due to its high cost and almost certain painful depreciation curve. I honestly think that the fate of high priced EVs is in question for at least the next 10 years or so.

I recommend ensuring that your Taycan is visible to as many car enthusiasts as possible and that you are extra flexible on price if it is a must sell.

A tough lesson in supply and demand. When you couldn't get a new Taycan for love or money in early 2022 there seemed to be tons of demand. I was one of those demanding (and paying a bit of a premium of owning privileges). Also wonder about is whether Porsche has gotten faster at producing vehicles designed on their site? If so, that would make new Taycans on Porsche lots even less desirable.

Yeah, thats the problem with non Mexico or made in China EVs. Only Premium ones can make a business case. Thats why there is push back from people who sell cars for a living. I would have never accepted to lease, so sucking it up and will pay it off. Then is a debate if i should get a Targa or gun for the big boys.

It appears that making a business case for the OEM means an extraordinarily high level of value destruction for the first owner at the moment. No bueno.

I do need to sell it, due to my daily commute changing and requiring 3x the range that the Taycan currently gives me. I am inlove with the machine and wouldn't have changed it unless I needed to. I already am flexible with the price, but I'm not giving it away for free haha

Second hand EV market is just insane, I couldn't have guessed that a year ago, looks like I'll keep my wife's etron for now, but I'll be going for a PHEV if anyone comes around and buys the Taycan...

You don't note how much it's for sale for.

In the UK, dealer supplied, late 2023 cars with less than 15k km can be had for 100k euros or thereabouts.

Selling privately I reckon you'll need to be a good chunk (10k-15k euros at least) less than that.

95k net euros currently, comparing it to similar spec cars on sale, mine is lower

I test drove an EQS and found it to be a bit soulless. not fun to drive, noisy and not very peppy. just my opinion. I preferred the BMW I5 but I went with a Lucid Air GT which I do not think is for sale in the EU

I'm actually surprised with the number of you who bought their Taycan instead of leasing it. I mean the resale of any EV has been from start challenging as the 2nd hand market is nearly inexistant. The 8 year battery warranty currently determines the entire car lifecyle (while EV battery recon process is not widely spread) and depreciation is taking a major hit because any 2nd hand user considers this. Taycan is no different from other EV.

I leased a second hand MY22 Taycan 4S from Porsche dealership for that reason: I didn't want to deal with the resale issue. 1100€ montly lease with 18k downpayment seemed the sweet spot for me. In 2 years I'll be out for the same kind of deal for a MY25 Turbo. Meanwhile I enjoy driving this marvel of a car with no regret.

Similar private sale? Or similar general including dealers?

Everything has its price.

Also, have those other cars sold? How long have they been on for?

A bit soulless I agree. But it was so comfortable and relaxing to drive. And a long range and big trunk. Compared to my 4 CT it is fast enough. But so silent compared to the Taycan. No sound from the electric engines, no humming resonating sound that I have. Maybe I should drive another Taycan to compare if something is wrong with mine. I really like driving the Taycan. But the EQS may be a better roadtripper. Prefer the looks of the Taycan too. Hyperscreen and MBUX are amazing.
