Hi,

Question: why is my home charging going to 100% when my schedule is set to 80%?
I'm new to this - only done 3 home charges so far - so I'm sure it's user error.
Any advice?

Public charging (just Pod Point so so) has been fine; for which I enable the Porsche charging "General" profile with an 80% limit.
  • My home set-up:
    • Only had my home charger (Hypervolt) fitted 2 weeks ago and done 3 home charges.
    • I'm on Ovo for energy and I use the Ovo app for charging to get the 7p smart charging rate.
    • I plug in the car when it's at circa 50%.
  • App charging settings:
    • Hypervolt app isn't used for any charging settings.
    • I don't use the Porsche app for any home charging settings. Ie,
      • no charging timer;
      • direct charging is set to "off";
      • no active charging Profile, except the "Enode" profile created automatically by the Ovo app.
    • Ovo app;
      • schedule is Min 10% and Max 80%;
      • ready by 07:10.
  • My issue:
    • The first charge was perfect and stopped at 80%.
    • The last 2 [of 3] charges have charged to 100% and the Porsche app shows "Direct Charge" set to "on".
    • I don't want it going at 100% for each home charge.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
Seems odd that Ovo is forcing "Direct Charge" to on, which is perhaps why it's going to 100%.
Should I activate the Porsche app's "General profile" as well as using the Ovo app?

Thanks.

Disable any non-OVO created profile / timers which may be conflicting - you don't have any so that should be OK.

Direct Charging will be set by the OVO app as needed but in normal usage your target departure and charge will be honoured regardless. The Direct Charge button should show as inactive when a charging session is complete.

The main cure is to delete your account from the OVO app and then re-add straight-away - this should clear any muddle there might be (I've done this before).

Agree with W1NGE. When I charge at home with Ovo, the Direct Charge option is normally off so try with that off.

My (possibly incorrect) understanding is that Direct Charge bypasses any timers/profiles - including the Enode one sent by Ovo.

Direct Charging will bypass everything for AC charging.

OVO may enable this as part of its process / control.

Solution is to remove the account and re-add.

Direct Charge is always set by myself to "off", but it something - probably Ovo - is changing this to "on".
I'll check on Sat night if reinstalling the Ovo app has fixed it.

OVO will sometimes turn Direct Charging on and off.
Mine sometimes charges to 100% when set to say 85%, usually when OVO hasn't been able to communicate with Porsche servers/ or Porsche servers cannot communicate with the car. This can be for several reasons but sometimes the car refuses to wake up....
As W1NGE says try deleting the car from OVO charge anytime app and adding back.

It will be - that's part of how it controls the charging session.

Deleting and reinstalling the Ovo app did the trick. At least for last night anyway.

You only needed to delete your account and not the entire app. Good that it's working now.
