for me it doesn't make sense to have regen if it's weissach equipped, also there is an additional PASM knob with a center button, what does it do beside you could adjust the suspension? the attach mode is to be activated from the drive mode knob, it's confusing

edit: the smart lift function is now simplified at the touch of a button on the PASM knob.

No it’s to drag up prices on base products with “halo anchoring” while delivering less and less.

Look at Porsches new base products. They are a joke in price/performance/spec ratio.

I mean come the heck on, Porsche is trying to push into Ferrari territory with tuned mass market vehicles while custom chassis super cars cost the same.

I dunno I love Porsche product, but they are really wringing it dry with this type of thing
To their credit, they still only produce 7 models. Ferrari sells more now.

Pretty cool car, I envy the ones who are able to buy these things. Personally I would spec it without the Weissach package. The front without the charging ports looks a little bit whitelabel to me, I prefer the look of a charging port + electric ones
That the Weissach Package is free (zero cost) on the Taycan, and ONLY on the Taycan, I believe says a lot about its value. Adding Weissach to a 911 GT3 RS makes it better - a track car becomes an even better track car. Adding Weissach to a four-door Taycan makes it a worse Taycan.

I know someone who invested a ton of time and money stripping down a lovely Jaguar XKR 5.0 to improve its track performance. It definitely got faster, but could still never match a 911, and it lost all of the things that made it a great road trip car.

Why is the Sport Chrono pack not part of the Weissach package? The whole thing about Sport Chrono was that you could use it on the track right?
It is kinda weird that they did that, but as someone who loathes the chrono clock bump, I welcome it.

Also GT 911s have it as optional too.

On the one hand, it's extracted an impressive level of performance out of a less than perfectly suited car and, If you accept that pricing through the Taycan range is reasonable, this one seems about right.
On the other hand, its track credentials need to include the ability to get significantly more than 15 miles per stint before thermal management intervenes- I'm not yet aware of any figures being indicated.

Not to mention within one year 70% of Porsche’s line up will be fully electric. That virtually overnight. So we’ll no longer just be talking about the Taycan as a niche EV product within the company.

In a world where ostentatious consumption is deemed bad, creating a 2 seat (albeit optional) version like this is a little nuts. And maybe points green fingers where they don't need pointing at this time.

As is creating 20pgs of marketing bs that picks up on irrelevancies - it's almost like the marketing people had 1,000 words to say and could think of little beyond lap times and 0-60.

That it exists is great. But some elements are more than a bit naff and pointless in the context of the base car (Subjective, I know). It might have been better to go the other way and prove how green a nice 4 door saloon can actually be if it doesn't major on big numbers.

BTW, Cayenne Coupe GT. Not sure whose point that better supports. (Well, I am really. Mine ?).

In the Top Gear video the driver said they got 3 fast laps of Leguna Seca before the battery/motor thermal management cut power. The tires got hot but still had plenty left in them and he said a cool off and the car could go back on the track

This is a halo product from a company that prides itself on it's long history of racing achievement. It's no surpise they've released it and I'm honestly very surprised anyone is shocked at what it is

I feel the opposite. I like that they have a manual charge port cover on one side instead of on both sides, not to mention the added weight of the electronics to open them automatically.
And the weight and blocking of the air curtain is against the ethos of such a car.

all you need to know is that Elon has gotten under their skin? Proof you ask?

"attack mode"

mic drop here - not sure this car is worth while - but it's certainly quick for a hot lap or two.

Ha Ha. The Turbo GT drops the ugly turbonite and goes back to colored crests on the hood and wheels! It’s like they’re hoping Turbo buyers will skip past Turbo and Turbo S and go directly to Turbo GT to avoid turbonite!

Attack Mode? Well, ok so the invertors are higher spec. But there’s really no reason the paddle shifters couldn’t be on the other Taycans with Push-To-Pass.

And what about the paddle-shift recuperation adjustment? Sounds like software to me, which could be deployed on the rest of the Taycan range as an option.

The package keeps sport chrono but just removes the analog clock.

The left regen paddle can mimic engine braking, which is useful in a track setting.
