Ahh. There is no need to SORN at all.

If you'd just re-taxed it then it would have worked. I've done 2 cars in this way and countless other folks I've chatted with.

You either need to go to the post office now or wait a couple of days to re-tax it online.

No! You will need to wait for next March. The whole point is that you will start being charged next April, so if you do now, you will ensure that you do get charged next April.

Well potentially you could save 4 months VED for the Taycan and 6 months for the Peugeot.

I did wonder. I am not sure if there was a 6 month option or not when I did it. I didn’t pay that much attention!

As long as HMG don’t cotton on and change the rules to close the ‘loophole’ - just set a diary reminder re-tax again in March 2025
