Concerns: Porsche Stability Management (PSM)

Cause: An optimized software is available for the Porsche Stability Management (PSM) control unit.
This update optimizes the brake pedal feel on recuperative and hydraulic braking.

Action: Check hydraulic unit and re-program PSM control unit using an updated data record.

Affected Vehicles: Only vehicles assigned to the campaign (see also PCSS Vehicle Information)

Edited to add: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-10254160-0001.pdf
3387 vehicles affected.

Edited on September 5, 2024, with updated TSB dated August 9, 2024: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-11007026-0001.pdf

Please note that all WPK0 vehicles are also affected by the ARB0 campaign. This technical information was therefore adapted as part of the ARB0-campaign publication.
It is also absolutely necessary that the ARB0 campaign is carried out first and then the WPK0
campaign. In the event that the ARB0 campaign is carried out at a later point in time and the WPK0 is still open, the implementation of the WPK0 campaign should also be postponed until the planned date. If the WPK0 campaign has already been completed, it does not have to be carried out again.
The following must be observed for vehicles on which the ARB0 campaign has already been carried out in the past and the present WPK0 campaign is still open:

Technical Information
• The ARB0 campaign was carried out max. one month ago (</= 1 month): In addition to
programming the PSM control unit, the brake system must also be bled using the Porsche Stability Management (PSM) bleeding routine (Scope 5 invoicing).
• The ARB0 campaign was carried out more than one month ago (> 1 month): In addition to
programming the PSM control unit, the brake system must first be ventilated using the ventilation
routine for electric brake boosters (eBKV) and then using the Porsche Stability Management
(PSM) ventilation routine (calculation scope 6).

These are very helpful. How to find out if own vehicle is affected by this particular TSB and "assigned to the campaign" since this is not a recall that would appear under a VIN lookup by the dealer.

I have found that dealer typically knows when my VIN is assigned to TSB. This is true even when I cannot find it using the VIN lookup from Porsche that is available to me. May take a while from when TSB is first issued for it to show up with dealer.

I had this TSB performed a couple weeks ago during a dealer visit. Was notified by the dealer upon checking in. Thanks for posting the details as I was curious what it was about and couldn't find any info on it until now. Nice to know my brakes were bled.

For others that have this done, I observed my brake pedal actually felt worse driving away from the dealer. Pedal was low and spongy. Connecting it to a L2 charger initiated the brake stiffness learning and after that the pedal has felt perfect.

A related issue is that sometimes Porsche adds VINs assigned to a campaign over time. The heater replacement campaign is an example of that. When it was first issued, the campaign was 400 or so US Taycans. Many months later it is thousands.

I just had my e-box replaced, but noticed they did this TSB at the same time. My brake pedal also feels worse when switching to the mechanical brakes. I was just about to message my service advisor, but I'm hoping it goes away after charging it.

Thanks for the link. I reached out to my service advisor and I'll see if charging does anything.

Mine had this done recently and it 100% feels worse. The pedal shudders at low speed now (not pulsing like pad deposits, but like a hydraulic rapid shudder). Going back in next week.

I had mine done 2 weeks ago and while the braking during driving feels better, I have noticed that at a complete stop (like waiting at a red light) my Taycan will often lurch or clunk, as if it was a car trying to shift gears. This is at a complete stop and waiting. It's very odd and annoying.

Weird. That's how my pedal felt when I first got the car pre any brake pedal related TSBs.

Just checking, but perhaps it could be that you're not pressing the brake pedal far enough? I did notice that after the TSB, the point at which the brakes release just enough so that the car starts moving is a bit higher than before.

Could absolutely be the case, sometimes when it happens the same thought has crossed my mind because of the way it feels. It may be all the muscles memory I have of how hard to press the brake is now irrelevant after the "fix"

Original post edited to include updated TSB dated Aug 9, 2024.

If your Taycan is included in campaign WPK0 (PSM stability), the updated TSB seems to indicate? that ARB0 (brake line recall) should be done before WPK0.
