Did you quit it after 2 years or did you wait for your full 3 year term to expire?

I can't remember if they have to hold the prices for each new year, they 'renew' your PCS (within the max 3 year term)

I used the free period of three years and after that had one extension period. But after that the subscription stopped and I was only presented with the new “improved” rates.

All this while wholesale rates head down and other providers are dropping their unit rates and sub charges.

Porsche are onto a definite lose-lose strategy with these new PCS rate card prices.

Cheers for that update. I don't really fancy another surprise in PCS rates when they 'renew' me for the last year of inclusive PCS.

Currently the PCS Plus €0.39/£0.39 rate isn't so out of line with Tesla's rates but giving Porsche £30/month after the initial 3 years inclusive feels like more Porsche tax. And worse for me is it's just Ionity and Porsche chargers are the Preferred rate, under the old deals we could use Fastned Osprey BP Shell Chargepoint at effectively 50-55p too, definitely will be missing that convenience.

The new PCS regime. It’s 30% more expensive for IONITY than the “legacy” PCS tariff and without any other CPO discount alternatives.

Count me out, once my present sub is up.

These are my rates, at least until the end of the year (when year 2 of my 3 year PCS contract is up):

£0.30 only old contract and no time charge - is what I'm charged. Cheapest public charging for sure.

It is the best option for sure. Will be Interesting to see how long you will be able to keep it? I could not keep it this year and my contract stopped working since I did not want to “”upgrade to the improved”” Charging service plus. So instead I just cancelled it. Porsche also changed their payment structure from a once per year 179 Euro to 24.99 Euro per month. But I can not choose to just have it for a month or so with cancelling and requiring a new subscription later gain. Ionity has that feature.

The best rate I have had here was at a Tesla SuC at 01.00 at night. 0.15 Euro per kWh! That was even chefer than my rate for AC at home! No idea why that freak rate was available that night, and hasnot been available since either. Tesla is depending on the car having the 150 kW charging option though.

Didn't want to open a new thread.

With the new pricing, it makes zero sense to subscribe to either Porsche charging service.

Basic plan is 89p/kW
Plus is now 39p/kW (A price higher than some Tesla Superchargers off peak rate, Tesla is 20£ less per month as well)

As said, this makes no sense with the current electricity prices going down, but we always knew it would turn out as another revenue stream for car companies.

That’s why I hinted at subscribIng to Ionity’s plans instead! I can only agree with you that Porsche are trying to maximise their income. Here in France there is no demand at all for the Taycan now. I believe I am the only one still sticking with my car at the local dealer .

Interesting that you are thinking of jumping back to an ICE car.

My thinking is driven by the depreciation and heavy discounting which will likely reoccur with the Gen 2 car as we saw with the Gen 1. Until Gen 3 (2027 / 2028) when we expect solid state batteries I can't see the situation improving.

Macan EV for my wife might be an option but logically it will likely follow the same path.

If values recover I might be swayed to stick with it but seems overly optimistic.

I'll ponder some more.
