Should I get suspension / tires / wheels checked after hitting a deep and big pothole at high speed?

The title says it all…

within 2 weeks of the ownership. I hit a big pothole on the freeway ramp from I-93 north to I-90 west. I could feel the suspension hit bottom.

after that I drove about 2 miles on freeway and 2 miles on local crappy roads again, for about 15 mins. I didn’t feel anything different. Suspension still feels great, comfortable, and yet responsive.

The car is in the dealer because I was dropping it off for the broken DC port flap…… it still charges, but a little piece of the flap got broken somehow.

Texted the guy at Porsche dealer to check on suspension / wheel and tires since my taycan is already there - for the charging port flap thing..

I would make them carefully inspect the damage to the underbody panel if any. This is a big deal if there is a dent more than 3mm that would compromise HV battery cooling components. Also, I would do an alignment check, that typically costs $200, and then you can decide if you want to do full alignment that is an all day process and $800. I had a small deviation and decided not to do the full alignment after the check printout of the deviations. You do not want to be out of alignment or you will strain suspension components and wear out the tires that can cause safety concerns and will cost more to replace them than the $200 alignment check.

I am happy to review your alignment printout and recommend to do it or not based on my data.

Good point! I’ll tell them to inspect that as well!
I guess I’ll try to avoid that highway ramp in the future ?

YES, my CT is in the shop right now for the same reason, hit the pot hole no issues parked the car over the weekend now the front right doesn’t go to the preset hight and I get a warning pop up not to drive the car.

Yes. It seems to be easily broken? But my situation is a bit different: the flap itself still stays down if I push it down.
The flap stays down if you push it all the way open so that you can use both hands to maneuver the charging plug into the receptacle.

Right. For The other guy @DerekS the flap didn’t stay in the down position even pushed to the bottom I think?

Since my flap won't stay down for 4+ hrs perhaps I should seek medical attention!
