Help interpret Tire Wear Warranty

I am on the original OEM Continentals All-Season and 21-inch wheels. These are probably the highest rated for treadwear with 500 A A rating, meaning to me that on an ICE car they should last at least 40k-50k miles. The measurement on delivery was about 6.7mm for all give or take a 0.1mm, that looks kind of low for an all season, expecting a solid 7mm or above.

After 11k miles, my fronts are 3.9mm and rears 5.5mm with wet traction compromised when reaching 3mm or 4/32 inch. I am expecting to be at 2mm or 2/32 inch say at 20k miles. I quoted the replacement to see the warranty spec.

I am asking to help interpreting the warranty, given excessive wear (expected), if I have any chance of the replacement tires cost to be prorated.

My interpretation: H-rated so warranty is for 55k miles for the fronts and 22.5k miles for the rears given different size for front. This means to me that the fronts should be prorated at least halfway if they are worn to 2/32 inch at 20k miles.

No way would you get or expect that sort of mileage. Michelin tyres are generally the longest wearing and good for 20K miles or so with normal driving.

I've never heard of tyres lasting the distance quoted.

Getting a tread wear warranty honored is black magic. I'm curious how Porsche could deliver a car with a max speed rating of 130 mph. Pretty sure your Turbo blows past that with room to spare.

I don’t think there is any mileage warranty on the factory installed tires.
This is from TireRack, which states "typically", however, I clearly remember that the car came with a tire warranty booklet, so I will check it out, and then also will see what the dealer says. My intent is to see if I can claim warranty and get my replacement set at a prorated amount.

I think the reason is that these are All-Seasons that top out at 130mph.
Summer variants are rated Y and top out at 186mph.

All season or not you could drive your car at 150 mph, exceed the limits of the tire and have a blowout. Seems like that would open Porsche up to some serious liability claims. I have never seen a car equipped with factory tires that did not exceed the speed capabilities of the car (and I've got a fair number of years in the industry). Not that you should try, but I wonder if all season equipped cars are speed limit capped so as to not exceed the limits of the tire.

I got to the bottom of this, that is probably obvious outcome, but I wanted to be sure. This is the interpretation from Continental in response to my question to clarify excessive tire wear of the OEM tire on the new vehicle.

New Vehicle Tire Warranty
The New Vehicle Tire Warranty is for 72 months from the purchase date or until the tires wear down to 2/32"; whichever comes first. Once the tires reach 2/32", the New Vehicle Tire Warranty ends, regardless of the time in use, or miles driven. The original equipment tires are covered for 72 months from the date of purchase for workmanship and material, but not product use such as treadwear or road hazard.

This answers my question that the original tires on the new vehicle are not covered for any treadwear or even road hazard. The warranty only covers if there is something wrong with the tire. I can see that a tire manufacturer must sell their tires to the automaker at a bottom price to only provide this minimal and required by law coverage of the product so it would be up to the consumer to pay for the road hazard coverage.

Replacement Tire Warranty
This is where it gets interesting. Continental in this case offers a lot of coverage and includes it in the price, either you want it or not. They call it Total Confidence Plan requiring registration at the time of purchase. My interest is treadwear and if I get the replacement set then it will be 55k miles for the fronts and half for the rears and can claim pro rata of the next set at that time as both will wear out at about 15k miles. The rears are priced significantly higher at $512 vs. $373 fronts most likely accounting for RWD Taycans, but on my Turbo the fronts wear out more than the rears. My understanding that the reason they post such a lofty treadwear expectation is for marketing of the tire and counting on that most consumers will not register for the plan and will not go through the pro rata process when replacing the replacement tire. Then if the consumer claims the pro rata which is expected to be small, they win by selling the consumer another set of tires.

I would like to ask for a recommendation on which tire is better as I was presented with only 2 options for replacement, same ones Contintentals or the Goodyears that do not look so good on paper.

Continental ProContact RX rated 500/500 treadwear priced $373/$512 with 55k/22.5k treadwear warranty

Goodyear Eagle Touring rated 400/350 treadwear priced $378/$392 with no treadwear warranty
