Loving this forum and am almost ready to press the button. I’ve been flipping between a new vs ex demo but think I will now go new. Managed to get a circa 12% discount from my dealer which I hope is fair.

I know everything is personal choice but here are my remaining issues:

1. I am going CT4 and not 4s. I could get the 4s but would need to lose a few options such as full leather and rear steer. I am pretty sure I want both of those. I also live in central London so realistically, the times I will benefit from 4s performance are few and I will be sitting in it all the time and driving in tighter spaces. So nice interior, better turning feels a good trade off for the performance. And I know the 4s and beyond are super fast but for most people I would say the CT4 performance is healthy!
2. I am not getting the off road pack but I do like the look of the off road design wheels. Do people think these will be materially worse range than the 20 inch aero wheels?
3. Volcano grey or dolomite silver?
4. Is my choice on rear wheel steering a waste of money? I have a Q7 now which has rear steer and I think it’s a great thing on a big car when you might find yourself in tight spots which I do in London.
Really appreciate any quick thoughts anyone has.
Thank you

The refresh MY2025 has improved performance and range so a CT4 with best looking wheels, full leather interior, and a rear wheel steer is the way to go. Taycan is long and wide so in any city rear wheel steer is a must. If you could post your build code, we can provide feedback on options if you like.

This is my usual feedback on builds as some of these are not obvious.

- Standard Equipment Exterior Mirror Base is plain plastic black that you can see from outside or when inside. I recommend considering this option that paints it High Gloss Black and goes well with High Gloss Black Window trim that you selected.

- Standard Glass is very thin on frameless door design. I suggest considering Thermal Glass for the thickness alone as I have known owners being disappointed not getting it after having Standard.

Other options I see that you have not selected that I like: Heated Steering Wheel, Ionizer (now has air quality sensor), 4-Zone Climate (has front footwell temp controls).

I have a 23 plate 4S which I bought new, at the time I test drove a CT 4 and realised the performance difference is quite significant. I know things have moved on but I am still convinced the performance benefit of the 4S far out ways the improved handling of rear steer or torque vectoring the standard car is a superb handling car, however I do think it is worth stretching to full leather, Bose and pano roof. I hope this helps.

Thank you for this. I think the heated steering wheel is in the sports chrono pack but the others are a good idea. I think I’m pretty much at budget though. So the question is do I drop full leather interior and rear steer?

I think if I do drop those two options, the 4S becomes a similar price but as I mentioned above, I do wonder just how often I will use the performance whereas I know I will be sat in the seats, wondering if I should have gone full leather the whole time….

I see what you mean on rear steer. But just dropping that doesn’t cover the gap to get me in a 4S and I see you have recommended the full leather.

I would tend to go for the lighter colours as I think these show off the curves much better and hide the dirt more.

That said I think your config in Volcano looks classy with all the sensors now stuff picked. I tend to black out as much as possible on my builds as not a fan of silver trims so I would perhaps tweak the inlays to make them at least Vesuvius Grey as I think in silver the rear contrast is too much between the paintwork and the diffuser.

For my money forget the glass roof - sitting in the driver's seat you don't see it and the car looks so much cooler with a metal roof and the ridges from the bonnet continuing to the rear. Plus the glass roof is a complete pain (and expensive) if it breaks.

Sadly i need roof rails and when you tick them you have to have the pan roof…
have added Vesuvius grey inlays to my current spec!
Really appreciate the help here.

Dolomite Silver or Volcano Grey?
I drove both colours.
VG is nice, a bit more stealthy and the car has a more "undivided" appearance.
Also looks a bit boring imo.

Other than DS...it's the colour I chose.
The car looks a lot more interesting, the "curves" are a lot better visible.
Also the different appearances from plain silver to a blueish glow in the evening sun are gorgeous.
So obviously I think DS is more beautiful. ?
