Yep very happy with mine. I wanted the HUD again and I was looking for Volcano Grey this time so that really limited the choice, sad to part with my 4S CT as it had been faultless apart from the recalls
I wanted HUD too, not many around with it!

Yes. The previous 'gen' didn't have the range I needed.
You did well to find one with HUD on a £114k car. I searched and searched! Generally the stock cars with HUD have a lot of other opinions which I would not normally want to pay for, but they nice no I've got them ? I regret not ordering the ACC and blind spot warning on my previous Taycan

I wasn't particularly looking to buy, I was just flicking through the listing's post knee surgery.

I looked at the spec and thought, it's missing RAS, ventilated seats and heated rear seats, but the big picture was what a fantastic spec. Big ticket items I'd never have ticked the box on. I adore these wheels, but id never have 'paid' for them.

I wanted 20" rims for the range, but for the sake of 13 miles, ill happily enjoy the look of these.

I'll be moaning soon enough that I don't have enough range ?

£20,000 off a brand new Turbo GT!

One of several examples. Is this normal end of year discounting or Porsche struggling to meet the 22% EV quota?

There's one in Glasgow @ £202K - can you imagine - £100K once you've driven off (fast)!

It's a fire sale on Taycan's (Macan EV would be there too if not just launched) due to the EV mess that abounds. £15K / car penalty rising to £25K next year which is currently fuelling the discounts but more is being added on top.

This is only going one way and that is 'south' until the politics are resolved.

Haha, didn't you tick the box for a 911?

Actually at £114k+ it is a very well spec's car. I keep forgetting the RWD starts at £86k

I was nervous about going from 20" to 21" because they are easier to scuff and I never liked the Mission E wheels but the Gen 2 Mission E wheels in gloss black do look great on mine.

In the history of Porsche there has never been this level of discounting and is particularly heavy in Europe.

Discounts are generally "we don't do that sir" but is now forced on Porsche (and others) due to the insane punishment being levied. It is no wonder the manufacturers are telling governments to "poke it" and in some cases closing UK factories.

I am not understanding why a dealer would get a GT as a lot car. Are there GT buyers that want a lot car that someone else configured regardless of the discount? I understand if Porsche would get one as a demo to tour it around to get more orders for Taycans in general, but that would be the only way to make any sense to have one around unsold. My dealer only would stock a RWD and a 4S and that is about the max, the rest is custom order. I understood the allocations would be limited.
Porsche made them and shipped to dealers to get them out there. Some deals would have been done for sure (same happened last year with the UK Taycan market flooded by Porsche UK leading to dozens of MY23 / MY24 looking for a buyer.

I’m led to believe dealerships in the UK need to order a minimum number of cars from the factory annually whether there is a buyer for them or not in order to meet their franchise quota obligations?
Also depends on size of dealership - larger ones have to shift more cars but also get more allocations for the cars they can sell - 911s (any) for example.

Porsche UK also bulk buy - Taycan being the prime example - and then dish them out across the network.

I'm guessing that some of the stock are cancelled orders, prompted perhaps by finance or trade-in values being unpalatable (so not necessarily a Taycan or even EV-specific issue?).
I don't think so and more to do with having to build EV cars due to EU regulations.

There is also a trade in EV credits from EU to China (BYD) to offset some of the inevitable losses when the penalties (£15K / car) are levied.
