I’m thrilled to introduce my new Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo 2025 (Porsche Code: PSWZMW61). After three incredible years with my Taycan Turbo 2020, it’s time to take things to the next level with this stunning upgrade – my Christmas present!

I’ll be exploring everything this exceptional car has to offer over the holidays: performance, range, comfort, and cutting-edge features. I’ll also share my impressions and some photos with you along the way.

More to come…. What would you like me to test or share about this model? Let me know in the comments!

Sure, will take some pictures. Active ride is a big change! Very soft and very impressive, especially for speed bumps. I need more time to refine. I will post a specific review about active ride.
thanks!

Congratulations on a beautiful gift and the offer to test and share outcomes from the newest model.

First, I am curious about your rationale for not selecting ACC and also why there is no InnoDrive+ALK option in the configurator. Another interesting item is 22kW PMCC that is listed as "basic" equipment since to my knowledge 2025 models do not support 22kW AC charging.

My most interest is charging performance, but please disregard if this is too much to ask. I am interested to see if you can time the differences between having Friendly Charging enabled vs. disabled and note total time for each session with start and end battery temperatures when charging from 10% to 80% arriving at the charger with properly pre-conditioned battery at least at 30C. The expected outcome is that the times will be close (within 5 min) but the battery temperatures will vary dramatically. I would like to see if the BMS became smarter in the 2025 and not overheating the battery to extremes when Friendly is disabled.

Hi!
It’s a French configuration with Innodrive is included (with ACC and ALK). Unfortunately 22kW was not available as an option.
About charging, I will post a specific detailed article. First test include a 280kW+ at 50% SOC! I imagine 10 to 80 is less than 20 minutes. Thermal management feels better with battery staying at 18C (64F) and less than 50C (122F) after a fast charging session.

Congratualtions. What a Merry Christmas you are already starting to have. I just love your picture from the straight back. Sure defines the Cross Turismo‘s looks with its great curvy hips.

Here is to your having more incredible Taycan years with your new one!

The charging data with battery temps is really helpful already @TaycanRe. I am interested in the differences in peak charging rate and battery start/end temps when Friendly is On vs. Off. I assume you latest session was done with Friendly OFF given 50C (122F) end battery temp.

AFAIK that feature is not present on the new Taycan's (wasn't on the loaner I had).

Are you sure? I do not have a 2025 but this is from the current PCM simulator.
I am referring to the last option on this screen called "Battery-saving fast charging".

The reason for my interest is that I discovered during my last and only long trip in a 2023 that it is best to charge with this option ON as it keeps a steady rate of charge (100kW-150kW) with no battery overheating (105F) and getting the car to 80% in the same amount of time vs. with this option OFF and letting the charger blast the car with 292kW peak at the start (in my case) overheat the battery (131F) and then dropping the rate to below 30kW when reaching 80% and having the fans going so fast to cool down the battery, I thought they will break off and fly out, which I do not ever want to experience again.

Not sure no - I just remember looking for it in the loaner (and have seen it discussed here). But I guess that simulator should be accurate - I stand corrected :)

This screen is somewhat hidden as it is not part of the main Battery screen tabs, since Option screens are accessed via 3-dots. You have to be on the Battery screen and then tap 3-dots to open in.

You have to educate me about « Friendly »
I just put the Charger in the GPS to precondition the battery
Let me check on the PCM

Update : Found it! (See pictures)
« This feature extends your battery’s lifespan by setting the charge limit to 90%. The target may change during the next charge cycle. The battery is cooled in high ambient temperatures, which may reduce charging speed »
The feature was off like you assume! Thanks for this ?

I would be interested in the “new” functions of the steering wheel.
What can the button in place of the recuperation button do?

Hi!

The new button, which replaces the mode adjustment for regenerative braking, now allows you to skip to the next track when listening to media.

It’s a shame that it’s no longer possible to assign a button to toggle between the modes : No Regen / Regen / Auto.

The programming only allows you to select one regenerative mode or turn it off
