When microwaves have this on the front, things are out of hand.

I paid extra to get a dishwasher which was NOT internet connected, or app connected. I guess the extra is for additional touch buttons (it has more because you need to operate it from its control panel, rather than a phone app), and because the SKU sells less units (was not stocked, had to special order).

It works for me as well. But the implementation on the screen means it doesn't work at the same time as the cameras. So when backing up / out of my garage I want the cameras on to see where I'm going, but then want HomeLink so I can close the garage door. Physical buttons on a rear view mirror don't have the same problem. Ah... technology....
To resolve just program one of the 2 diamond keys. I use the one on the steering wheel.

Yep. Diamond key on the dash is for the cameras. It's a not-too-terrible workaround. ?

We could do with another diamond key! I use the one on the steering wheel to kill the over speed audible warning when I start every trip and the one on the screen to switch on Sport Sound when driving in pedestrian areas like car parks. That said since the WRV3 software recall, the volume of the speeding warning is now very quiet and it only bongs twice each time you go through the speed limit plus tolerance. Not that I ever speed :)

I would like to also have the recuperation on a button like my first Taycan

When starting, I immediately press the diamond button on the screen to suppress the audible speeding warning.
I use the diamond button on the steering wheel for recuperation. It's now up instead of down, which I really enjoy because I no longer hold my left hand too far down.
The third button should be the lower one on the steering wheel. Who needs to change the transmitter on the steering wheel? What nonsense.

All Taycan has a large 8.4-inch screen on the center console, did anyone ever use the touch pad function to enter information? Only wish Porsche can use that space wisely.

Since all the main functions are at the top, I don't need the icons on the top display. I have others displayed there.
It's easier to enter the addresses of the individual letters with my finger than to hit the letters on the keyboard while driving.
The overview of all electric charging flaps and lids is also an advantage when you are stationary.
The charge status, which is also switched on automatically as soon as you connect the car to the power supply, is also easy to read from the outside.
I love the screen.

Agreed I would forgo the next track/station button and have it as a programmable button.

I might try and live without being able to switch off the speed warning now it is really quite and only bongs twice, it is just irritating it sounds every time you go through the speed limit. I have set it to add the tolerance so some mitigation.

I just had the software update applied to my J1.2 CT. My main reason for taking it in was because it wasn't connecting to the app and nothing I tried fixed that. It does connect now, after the update. No idea whether that's because something got fixed or because they reset just about every ECU in the car, but fingers crossed...

Also, there was this one tidbit from the repair order that I thought was awesome: "Checklist: Due
to the high number of programming steps incorrectly carried out as part of the last software update, a checklist was created to improve the overview of the work to be carried out. The checklist must be completed, signed and attached to the PQIS quality line in the PCSS." ?

One of the reasons we have computers is because they're really good at doing things like following complicated checklists. I suspect that Porsche could benefit from some improved automation here.

Same, lost connectivity to app and all in-car Porsche Connect. Mine was dropped off today for the J1.2 software update.
Service writer seemed to think they could get it done by end-of-day, but wasn't sure because they had not performed the WRV3 campaign on any cars yet.

How long was yours at the service center for the software update?

They did mine in a couple of hours. You can see when it has been done if you open the App and look at the Manual... it asks you to download a new one

Same. Once they got to the car it didn’t take more than a few hours. I took it to a pretty large dealer though (Stevens Creek Porsche), and while I didn’t ask I suspect this wasn’t the first one they’ve done.

Thx for the reply.
I do have the new manual download link, and downloaded it now.

However, they just called me because they are having trouble with updates on 2x of the modules and they have opened a ticket with Germany for assistance.
Because of the time difference, will have to keep the car overnight and finish up tomorrow.
