Thank you for posting this. This schedule is in line with what I paid, also in California. Folks often post that they are able to get pretty deep discounts from the above numbers (which also depend on the age and mileage of each vehicle) but I couldn't find any dealers who will reliably/openly offer such discounts.
I got a discount from my dealer by telling them that I was a member of PCA (Porsche Club of America)(which is true but never checked...). That is supposed to get you a 10% discount on just about everything at Porsche dealers and, in my experience, it does.

WRAP UP -- Today I bought the PFS EV PLAT VSC IN WARRANTY - 48mo/60k $250 Deductible for $4776 plus sales tax from the local Porsche dealer.

Negotiation was necessary, and I can't thank all of you enough for giving me the information to make that happen. I'd like to give a shout out to @Jonathan S., @hifi239, @Tucson_Jim, @RBGtaycan, @Tooney, @RingoDingo, @ChrisLA, and @MissionC for helping me get the information I needed to improve the price.

Is this forum great or what??

Nice assuming that’s 48months from purchase date or when the warranty expires.

FWIW, the quotes I gave were all from purchase date (i.e., include the initial “free” warranty that comes with the car).

Still confused. When does the 48 months start? I thought Porsche vehicle service plan terms started from date car was placed in service.
It starts at the end of the initial 48 month period. Basically it means a 96 month bumper-to-bumper warranty that lines up with the eight year HV battery warranty.

The only difference between the two is that the mileage limit for the extended warranty is 60,000 miles, and the mileage limit for battery warranty is 100,000 miles.

For avoidance of confusion, here are the terms in my new contract. Note "96 mo from "Original in Service Date".

For what it’s worth my plan is to hold onto the car for a while so that I can evaluate the new Gen 2 version of the Taycan.

I’ll be near 50k miles at the end of the 48 month factory warranty. Is there an option to get an additional 50k miles/48 months?

Yes there are, but prices vary. Check out this post earlier in this tread for some preliminary data. I'm sure if you go for $250 deductible the price is lower. Remember that the list prices from a Dealer will be better if you get the new warranty prior to expiration of the existing warranty.

And of course, you should negotiate.

Just to add a data point: was quoted a 3rd party warranty additional 3 years and I forget the miles, full coverage including battery and drive elements was ~$4k.

This dealer offers the porsche protection, CPO (for cpo cars) and 3rd party. They prefer the 3rd party and even on CPO cars if it has that, they use it. Why? Pays better and easier claims process. That was crazy to me. They like porsche protection least, they claim they will nickel and dime you on the deductibles, pay low rates for the work, and are difficult to get approvals for claims.

The Porsche-branded plan is 3rd party, specifically Safe-Guard.
Only the original factor warranty and CPO are with PCNA.

This may be a dumb question - so bear with me - but this has to be a common scenario for a lot of owners - if not now then soon.

If you already have a Porsche approved extended two year warranty in place, from a porsche dealer as part of a CPO purchase (in the US meaning a total of six years bumper to bumper from the in service date) - are you able to add another Porsche approved warranty on the end of this when it expires with the provider quoted above?

If so will this require the 111 inspection regardless of if you purchase the new extension before the initial extended warranty expires?

I am aware it will be subject to different pricing and negotiation etc. etc. .... just wanted to check if it is even viable....

It is a long time since I had a car more than six years old - and when I bought my CPO Taycan I did not think I would keep I for more than 4 years (and now I possible will) - so this had not even occurred to me...
