Odd Question: Does a Glock 19 (or similarly sized gun) fit inside the Taycan glove box?

Occasionally I'll have to run in somewhere like the post office, so I'll toss my carry gun in the glove box and lock it for 5 minutes. I realized in my wife's car (Toyota Crown), the glove box is too narrow to fit a G19+holster and close. I couldn't really check when I took a test drive in the Taycan - the salesman would've probably shit his pants. I figured I'd come here with my insane question first. It fits fine in a 981 Cayman!

I think the 19 is smaller than a 20. If you’ll do the work to confirm that, ill shove the 20 into the center console and glovebox for you and report back.

Get a car safe or carry

Unsecured guns are food for certain types

Not sure what part of having rights and exercising them legally and responsibly is embarrassing to you, but I think it’s sad you feel that way.

True, there are lots of guns in America. Warrior culture and self sufficiency vs reliance on the Govt was a founding tenant of the US and frankly one thing I find embarrassing is how far we’ve fallen from those ideals. I have no issues if someone chooses not to want to own or associate with firearms, but your security and wealth is highly predicated on the military strength of the country and our success in warfare throughout history.

Guns are but a tool, but it is one of the many ways that the founders felt was necessary for the security of a free state. You may not wish to have guns, but being blind to the benefit you’ve received from being a global winner through the literal blood, sweat and tears of others shouldn’t be embarrassing. The strength of the United States in particular has generated one of the most peaceful periods in human history, despite what the media would make you feel. I for one am proud of that as a citizen of the US. We aren’t perfect, but wondering if our German gloveboxes can hold a full size Austrian gun isn’t something to be embarrassed about.

My understanding of the right to bear arms was the founding fathers felt the populace should be able to overthrow a government that was doing unconstitutional things.

Probably plausible back then but I wouldn't expect a Glock to be much use against current military weaponry if the people did try to impose this constitutional right. ;)

I also doubt the founding fathers were contemplating fully automatic assault rifles at that time of muskets or whatever in the late 1700s.

But each to their own.....
Plenty a US citizen could (quite rightly) criticise our countries laws.

Are you saying the puppet Afgan government had an army in relative numbers and equipment to match the US? Not heard that premise before.
Afganistan hasn't had government control for decades (except the Taliban)

For the record I agree with you. Just playing a little devil's advocate. Just saying that the rag tag band of resistance was able to hold off both the Soviet in the 80's and the US in the 2000's.

It all depends of how much damage the Gov't is willing to inflict on it's own citizen.

The truth is most Americans with this belief system live off some form of aid from the government and could in no way be "self Sufficient" They are however excellent at spewing this fictional line so they can get a enlarged sense of their manhood by carrying a gun. I think your in the wrong forum, you need to be in the jacked up pick up truck and flag forum!!

Probably not a 19. Maybe a 26.
